Bebe Rexha will attend her first Grammy Awards on February 10 as a nominee for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. It’s a huge night for her, but there’s an unanticipated issue. She says that many designers have refused to dress her since she is a size 6/8 and deemed “too big” by them.
The “I’m a Mess” singer, 29, expressed her displeasure with the dress-finding process on Instagram, writing, “So I finally get nominated at the Grammys, and it’s like the coolest thing ever. And a lot of times artists will go and talk to designers, and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet — you go to any big designer.”
“So I had my team hit out a lot of designers, and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally, I’m too big.

“If a size 6-8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you,” she continued. “Then I don’t want to wear your f—ing dresses. Cause that’s crazy.
“You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.
“So all the people who said I’m thick and I can’t wear your dresses, f— you, I don’t want to wear your f—ing dresses.”
Rexha, who did not name any of the designers, captioned the video: “Im sorry, I had to get this off my chest. If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys. #LOVEYOURBODY.”
Rexha received an offer from designer August Getty, who stated he’d dress her, in her Instagram comments. “You are beautiful!” the design house wrote. “Every woman of every size is beautiful! Just let me know when I should start sketching.”
Unfortunately, Bebe Rexha isn’t the first musician who has spoken out against designers that refuse to wear her due to her size. Actors like Leslie Jones and models like Ashley Graham have both spoken out about their prior experiences with size prejudice.
Rexha is a US size 6-8, which is not large enough to be labeled plus-size, which begins at size 14. Models on the runway, on the other hand, are normally between sizes 0 and 4.
Rexha has written songs for Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, and Eminem, among others.
