On Nov. 30, as the Fast & Furious actor’s charity event was winding down, he decided to take a “quick spin” in a Porcshe that was on display with his close buddy Roger Rodas.

Always Evolving, Rodas’ custom car shop in an area of warehouses and office parks, hosted the fundraising and toy drive. Rodas and Walker, both 38, co-owned a car racing team. Rodas raced in ten Pirelli World Challenge GTS events this year, according to a statement from the racing organization.

Jim Torp, an engineer who attended the event, said he heard a vehicle engine revving loudly and then an explosion. Torp claimed Walker and Rodas had planned a fast ride.

Jim Torp, 52, tells HollywoodLife.com, “I was with Paul when he said what would be his last words. Paul and Roger went to take one of the cars that was on display for a quick test ride, before they were going to park the Porche in the warehouse. Paul said to us, ‘We will be back in five minutes.’ Those were his very last words.”

The Porsche was a twisted mess after the deadly collision, but Jim revealed that Paul, who is survived by his 15-year-old daughter Meadow, “had to die this way” since he was such a tremendous enthusiast of fast vehicles and spent much of his movie career playing in them on the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise.

Meanwhile, upon visiting the scene of Walker’s death yesterday, his ‘Fast & Furious’ co-star Tyrese Gibson broke down in tears.

The actor then removed a piece of debris from the scene and posted a photo of the scrap metal in his palm to Instagram.

“I will keep your energy with me forever #AshesOfAnAngel fast family around the world we live you and we love you,” he said in the post.

“Paul is the heartbeat of this franchise and were gonna see to it that his energy and presence lives on forever #myhearthurtssobad (sic)”

Speed was a role in Saturday’s one-vehicle collision, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, though it will take time to ascertain how fast the automobile was travelling.

When the Porsche they were traveling in slammed into a post in Santa Clarita, California, it also killed Walker’s friend and financial adviser Roger Rodas, although his sister firmly claims he was engaging in a speeding competition with another automobile at the time.

“They were absolutely not racing, that’s a complete lie. It hurts us when we hear these lies and it makes our grief worse and more painful,” Ashlie Walker, 37, told MailOnline. “These are irresponsible allegations and people are trying to make out speed and racing was the reason for his death when it was just a terrible accident.”
