Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, has explained why he wears a necklace that contains a drop of his girlfriend Megan Fox’s blood.

He shared a photo of the unique jewellery design on Valentine’s Day, which included a circular vial containing a single drop of blood.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the singer revealed that he received the gift from Fox early on in their relationship when she gave him the vial of her DNA before leaving for Bulgaria to film a movie.

The rapper was unable to visit her due to not having a passport at the time, making the situation stressful for the couple.

“Well, she was actually going out of town to film a movie, and this is really new in our relationship,” Machine Gun Kelly told DeGeneres.

“So I was kind of freaking out, like, ‘Oh you’re going to leave and I can’t even come see you’ or whatever. And yeah, I mean, some people give, like, a handkerchief to their partner or whatever, she gave me her DNA.”

The rapper then showed DeGeneres the vial, which he had on him, and confirmed that he still has it.

During the interview, Machine Gun Kelly also revealed that he was able to acquire a passport, thanks to Bernie Sanders’ team.

The singer expressed his gratitude to the former presidential candidate, saying, “Thank you so much! I haven’t even talked to him since this happened – thank you to the Bernie Sanders team for that. I made it to Bulgaria, and the relationship’s going strong. So thank you so much.”

DeGeneres added, “Bernie Sanders got you to Bulgaria and also to save your relationship possibly.”

Fox and Machine Gun Kelly first met in 2020 on the set of Midnight In The Switchgrass.

The couple reportedly began officially dating in June of that year. Fox separated from her husband, Brian Austin Green, in 2019.

Machine Gun Kelly’s necklace has garnered significant attention on social media, with some fans expressing their discomfort.

One user tweeted, “Machine Gun Kelly is wearing Megan Fox’s blood in a necklace and I think I’m gonna be sick.”

Another user commented, “Am I the only one who finds it creepy that Machine Gun Kelly wears a vial of Megan Fox’s blood around his neck?”

However, Fox herself appears to be supportive of the gesture, as she commented on the original Instagram post, “I’m with you.”

This is not the first time that celebrities have worn their partner’s blood as a form of jewellery.

In the 1990s, Angelina Jolie wore a vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around her neck when the pair were married.

Thornton later revealed that the couple “had a great time” wearing each other’s blood.

It is not clear how Fox and Machine Gun Kelly obtained the vial of blood or whether it was acquired through a medical procedure.

However, the practice of wearing blood in jewellery is not uncommon and has been used throughout history for a variety of reasons, from religious rituals to expressions of love.

Despite the controversy surrounding his necklace, Machine Gun Kelly and Fox’s relationship appears to be going strong.

The couple has been open about their affection for one another on social media, with both posting photos and messages expressing their love.

In February, Machine Gun Kelly shared a photo of himself and Fox with the caption, “i’m calling you girlfriend, what the fuck.”

Fox responded with a comment, “my heart belongs to you.”
