Actress Brooke Shields has revealed that Michael Jackson lied about their relationship on national TV.

The late pop star claimed in a 1993 interview with Oprah Winfrey that he was dating Shields, despite already being involved with another woman.

Shields said she called Jackson to complain about the deception, telling him that it was “pathetic” to fabricate such a story.

The two were close friends, but never dated or kissed.

Shields spoke about her relationship with Jackson in an interview with The Times while discussing her new documentary, “Pretty Baby.”

The film follows Shields’ emotional reaction as she watches her 1978 movie of the same name with her daughters, Rowan and Grier Henchy.

In one scene, Shields, then just 11 years old, kisses her co-star Keith, a moment that she says she found difficult to explain to her children.

Shields revealed that she struggled to come up with an explanation for her daughters, saying, “That was … that was hard for me, to not justify my mom to them, but when they asked me, I thought, ‘Oh God, I have to admit this’.”

Shields added that she could not understand why her mother did not intervene during the kissing scene and that the director snapped at her for making a repulsed face.

Despite her friendship with Jackson, Shields said she never considered dating him, even in the early days when other actresses were interested in him.

She said, “I remember the early days when other actresses were after him, and he was kind of cute, before the shift. But it never even crossed my mind.”

Shields also recalled a moment in the car with Jackson, where he attempted to kiss her in front of the cameras, but she refused.

“There was one moment when we were in the car, and the cameras were there, and he grabbed me to kiss me, and I said, ‘No! Stop! We are just friends and you need me as a friend,'” she said.

The actress said that despite their disagreement over the false relationship claims, she maintained a close friendship with Jackson.

She explained, “He was so magnanimous and tried to make everything easy for everyone around him, and it was always about others. I think that’s part of why he could be such a great performer.”

Shields’ new documentary, “Pretty Baby,” takes its name from the 1978 movie in which she starred as a young girl coming of age in a New Orleans brothel.

The movie was controversial at the time for featuring a young actress in sexual situations, but Shields defended the film, saying that it was a “great opportunity” for her to break out of the child actor mold.

Shields also talked about the difficulties of being a child star in Hollywood, saying, “There was a lot of sexualisation in Hollywood in the ’80s. It was hard for me because I had a lot of attention on me because I was considered a child model. I never thought of myself that way.”

The actress said that she still experiences feelings of guilt over her early fame, saying, “I still feel like I was the one that got away with something because I didn’t have a drug problem, I wasn’t arrested, I wasn’t in rehab.”

Shields is currently starring in a new TV show called “Mr Mayor” and has previously appeared in hit movies such as “The Blue Lagoon” and “Endless Love.”

She has also written several books and is an advocate for mental health awareness.
