Courtney Love, an American singer, songwriter and actress, is facing a lawsuit filed by her former assistant Jessica Labrie in Los Angeles.

Labrie is alleging that she is owed unpaid wages and was subjected to unethical requests such as instructing her to hire a hacker and falsify legal letters.

Love’s publicist, Steve Honig, has denied the allegations and has released a statement, “The allegations are completely unfounded and are being made with malice by a disgruntled former employee.”

Jessica Labrie, the former administrative assistant of Love, claims that she worked for Love for around a year in 2010 and 2011, but was terminated after complaining about the unpaid wages and expenses for business trips.

Furthermore, the lawsuit also states that Labrie suffered from headaches, insomnia and other medical conditions due to Love’s conduct.

Labrie’s attorney, Joshua Gruenberg, stated that Love had requested for a hacker to change records of businesses that she owned or believed she owned, but Labrie refused.

Gruenberg also added, “Ms. Labrie was subjected to a work environment that was unbearable and ultimately forced her to quit.”

The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages and a trial by jury. This is not the first time Love has faced such legal issues.

In the past, Love has been involved in a number of legal disputes, including a wrongful death suit filed by the family of her late husband, Kurt Cobain.

The allegations made by Labrie have yet to be proven in court, and it remains to be seen what the outcome of the lawsuit will be.

However, the case highlights the importance of fair treatment and proper compensation for employees, as well as the potential legal consequences of unethical conduct in the workplace.

“This is a clear cut case of an employer not treating her employee fairly and with the respect she deserved,” said Gruenberg.

“Ms. Labrie was a loyal and dedicated assistant and it is unfortunate that she had to resort to legal action to be compensated for her hard work.”

Love’s publicist Steve Honig said, “We are confident that the truth will come out and that Courtney will be fully vindicated.”
