Chris Hemsworth had to hide behind a tree while picking up his kids from school in Sydney, according to Natalie Portman.

The Oscar-winning actress, who portrays Jane Foster in the next Marvel blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder, said during a recent appearance on US television that her children went to the same school as Hemsworth’s three children when the movie was being filmed in Australia.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Portman said, “One day, we ended up at school pick up at the same time and I just felt so bad for him.”

“Because I’m small and can kind of camouflage with the moms. And then he comes in, he’s like a Greek god walking through.”

“He’s really famous everywhere but especially in Australia, he’s so, so well-known,” she added. “So to see him kind of by the tree, hiding, it felt like some weird sitcom of the superheroes at school pickup.”

With his wife Elsa Pataky, Hemsworth has a girl named India and twin boys named Tristan and Sasha.

Although Hemsworth’s family lives in Byron Bay, Portman proposed the kids go to school in Sydney while shooting.

To shoot the Taika Waititi-directed blockbuster, Natalie was stationed in Sydney in late 2020 and early 2021. She and her husband Benjamin Millepied have two children together: Aleph, 11, and Amalia, 5.

The actress was photographed taking in Sydney’s famed attractions when she was visiting Australia, including the Blue Mountains, Bondi Beach, and even the pub.

The couple moved back to the US although there were rumors that they would be considering purchasing a home in Australia.

The Thor: Love and Thunder premiere in Sydney was held on Monday, and the Marvel actor and Pataky attended with their twin sons.

In contrast to Pataky, who looked stunning in a black evening gown with a plunging neckline and cutouts, Hemsworth attended the event in a black tux and black t-shirt.

The lads looked sharp in their black tuxedos and black and white shoes. It seems that the couple’s daughter was not present.

Hemsworth recently spoke with Extra about his superpower of being “fun” in the interview.

“I think I’m creative. They’re all very active kids with big, vivid imaginations and so am I,” he stated. “We get outside and explore and play whatever we want. It’s what it’s about.”

He also joked about how the iconic Thor hammer makes its way around his home. “It kind of varies in its location from the toy box to the mantlepiece,” he shared. “It quickly gets taken off there and ends up in the bathroom.”

In the fourth Thor movie, Christian Bale’s wicked Gorr the God Butcher faces the hammer-wielding hero Thor.

The film is set in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, where Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has given up his superhero ways.

On July 8, the movie Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Portman and Hemsworth, will be released.
