Former NFL running back Zac Stacy was arrested and detained Thursday night in Florida after he was filmed hitting his ex-girlfriend over the weekend.

Stacy viciously beat his ex, Kristin Evans, in front of their five-month-old baby.

He was detained at Orlando International Airport as he left a flight arriving from Nashville, and the former Jets and Rams running back was taken into the Orange County prison.

According to CBS Orlando station WKMG-TV, the savage incident was captured on security footage.

The former New York Jets player, 30, was charged with aggravated violence and criminal mischief.

According to TMZ Sports, Evans pleaded with Stacy to stop beating her, and once the former NFL player departed, she contacted the cops, who came shortly after the incident.

Stacy had already departed the scene when they arrived. She accused the former football player of assaulting her during a heated argument.

Stacy was visiting Evans and the infant at her house on Saturday when he flew in a jealous rage, according to Evans.

Stacy reportedly fled when video evidence of him punching Kristin Evans, the mother of their 5-month-old son, and shoving her into a television surfaced. According to USA Today, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department learnt that he had fled the state at one point.

According to Oakland police, they contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office about the hunt for Stacy, but authorities determined he’d fled Florida.

Then, on Thursday evening, they learned that Stacy was taking a flight from Nashville to Orlando with the goal of turning himself in. When Stacy’s flight arrived, they alerted Orlando police, who brought him into prison without incident.

Bond was set at $10,150 at his court appearance, and he was slapped with a temporary injunction to keep away from his ex-girlfriend.

According to court papers, the victim informed officers that she and Stacy had a child together and that she was allowing him to visit the kid as an “olive branch” since they were in mediation.

According to the New York Post, Evans stated in a restraining order that she was hospitalized with bumps and bruises and that Stacy had been beating her since she became pregnant last year.

Stacy was drafted in the fifth round with the 160th overall pick in 2013 and spent the season with the St. Louis Rams. Then, in 2015, he joined the New York Jets, and in 2017, he announced his retirement from the NFL.

“[I] would like to take this time to show appreciation to all those who have supported [me] and were involved throughout my career,” the statement said.

“The game of football was more than a game to me. It was a life changer… I am forever blessed and grateful for my many former coaches and teammates throughout the years, the resources and relationships that I’ve built playing this game…and the numerous opportunities that I received on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (and the occasional Monday night) to do what I love to do, and that’s to play the game of football.”

However, one year later, Stacy stepped out of retirement to join the Saskatchewan Roughriders during preseason, and he signed with the Memphis Express in January 2019.
