Jason Momoa is speaking up about his Hollywood career and how he feels about his 14-year-old daughter Lola and 12-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf’s professional future.

Momoa recently stated that he does not want his children to follow in his footsteps. According to a source, Momoa told an industry publication that he wants his children pursue careers outside of Hollywood.

Jason discussed his love of filmmaking, saying that he enjoys “seeing the full project” when it comes to directing, but that “it‘s nice also to just do the actor stuff. I’m happy I can do both.“

“Aw man, one of them wants to do it, and I’m not a fan,” the 42-year-old actor added. “I don’t want them to.”

“I don’t know. I’ll try my damnedest to keep ‘em out of it,” he added. “I love storytelling, I love theatrical things, I like directing and filmmaking, but I just want them to, you know, really to go for other things.”

Jason stated that if they truly choose to work in the film industry, he will allow them, but he does not want them to pursue acting.

“It‘s very hard on people and I don’t want them to have that pressure. I’m tough, I can handle it, but I wouldn’t want to put someone I love through that,“ he concluded.

The actor, who is currently promoting his forthcoming Netflix film “Sweet Girl,” claimed he will do all he can to keep his children away from acting.

Momoa, who has been married to Bonet since 2017, recently spoke out about his relationship with his son and daughter. In November, the actor told a news source that growing up without a father had influenced the way he raised Nakoa-Wolf. He told the publication at the time, “I didn’t know what it takes to be a dad.”

Momoa was equally open about his daughter last year, telling a magazine that he hopes his stepdaughter Zoe Kravitz can be a role model for Lola. “I hope and pray my daughter is that talented and loving and open and close to her family,” he added.

At the age of 19, the fan-favorite actor began his career as a model before landing a role in the drama series “Baywatch: Hawaii” in 1999, which propelled him to popularity.

Momoa and Bonet have both been in the industry for decades; he is renowned for his performances in ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Aquaman,’ while she is known for her parts in ‘The Cosby Show’ and ‘High Fidelity.’

Momoa’s 20-year-old ‘Sweet Girl’ costar Isabela Merced concurred, saying, “There’s a lot of, like, extra stuff that comes with acting that you’re like, ‘I didn’t sign up for this!’ But you love it, so you gotta do it.”
