Meghan and Harry hire Mandana Dayani as first COO

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s hiring frenzy at Archewell has continued with the addition of a new Chief Operations Officer.

Archewell, the nonprofit created by Meghan and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has appointed Mandana Dayani as its first chief operations officer, the organization confirmed to Fortune.

Ms Mandana said of her new job, “I am so inspired by the vision and unwavering dedication of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to create a more united, truthful, safe, and equitable world.”

“I am thrilled to build upon our shared mission to drive systemic cultural change,” she added.

So, who is Dayani? The Iranian-born activist is the originator and co-founder of I am a voter, “a nonpartisan movement that aims to create a cultural shift around voting and civic engagement.” She also works for a business called Everything But the House and appeared on Bravo’s “The Rachel Zoe Project” On top of that, she is a loving mother and wife.

Mandana is no stranger to celebrities, having previously co-hosted a podcast with Debra Messing and interviewed celebrities and politicians such as Hillary Clinton.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will get direct reports from the COO. Dayani will be in charge of the organization’s growth strategy and day-to-day operations, which comprise the charity Archewell Foundation as well as the media companies Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions. She started working at Archewell in June.

Dayani is another person who does not take anything for granted. When asked about the finest piece of advice she’s ever received, Dayani stated that it came from her father. “My dad taught me at a very young age that I should work harder than everyone else: Be the first one in and the last one out. Always offer to help. Don’t be entitled — earn your success. And always be grateful for the opportunity to just get up to bat,” she told CNN Money. Archewell appears to be in good hands.

While the hiring was just recently acknowledged, Ms Dayani is believed to have been in the position since June.

Mrs. Dayani was born in Tehran in 1982, however her family decided to escape Iran and settle in Ladispoli, Italy.

She was later given asylum in the United States as a religious refugee, and the family first resided in New York before relocating to Los Angeles.

Dayani joins the Archewell team, which comprises the foundation’s executive director, James Holt, the foundation’s head of content, Ben Browning, the head of Archewell Audio, Rebecca Sananes, the head of unscripted Chanel Pysnik, and the SVP of scripted TV, Nishika Kumble.

The newest Archewell hire follows Meghan’s announcement of a new Netflix endeavor that she would “create and produce.”

The new series will center on “a 12-year-old heroine who finds inspiration in influential women from history”.
