Why Kaley Cuoco Was Devastated About The Big Bang Theory’s Ending

Even though The Big Bang Theory ended over two years ago, its influence on television is still felt today.

And as a result of the show’s extraordinary success, its cast members rose to the status of some of the most well-known and well-paid individuals in the entertainment business.

Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg, who make up the core cast, joined forces in 2015 to bargain for equal pay and started making $1 million every episode.

Before coming to a touching and moving series end, the long-running CBS sitcom’s ensemble cast members became true stars. Kaley Cuoco, the series’ star, recently discussed the trauma of bidding farewell to the show in an interview with The One Show. She claimed that the uncertainty of what “future projects” might be in the works had a significant effect on her.

“When I started freaking out about the comparisons there would be or what my next project would be, I realized you can’t compare anything to ‘Big Bang,'” she stated, continuing, “As its own entity, I’ll never have that again.”

“I won’t have that cast again, the money, the schedule, the 12 years… I mean, all of it was insane,” Cuoco concluded.

According to a 2018 Forbes article, Cuoco earned $24.5 million pre tax between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018, making her the second-highest paid TV actress of the year. According to Variety, the actress and the four other original cast members each accepted a $100,000 salary cut in 2017 to make room for Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik to earn more money.

Her biggest concern was being judged after such an immensely successful sitcom, but she overcame it by saying, “I was like, OK, if I can accept that nothing will compare to that, I can’t control what other people are gonna say about me, but I knew my next project was gonna be for me and I was gonna leave that in its own place.”

Cuoco has previously said that she would have stayed on The Big Bang Theory for as long as possible and has been open about the emotional roller coaster she experienced as the show’s finale drew near.

Cuoco previously admitted that she was laughing when the series came to a close. “I was like, ‘How are we gonna shoot that last episode?’ I was hoping we were gonna pre-shoot a lot of it ’cause I think there are gonna be a lot of tears. It’s gonna be tough, it’s gonna be a lot of emotions and I love our crew. I just love the people that we’re with every day so, you know, all good things come to an end. Everyone is still madly in love with each other. We’re all OK with the choice. We’ve just grown up together, so it’s our adult decision.”

Despite her concerns, Kaley has managed quite well without the program that made her famous. Her most recent endeavors include starring in and producing the HBO comedy-drama The Flight Attendant.

The actress received her first Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a musical or comedy for her on-screen work.

Kaley had a good night despite the fact that Catherine O’Hara won the award for her depiction of Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek.

Cuoco talked about the day she learned “The Big Bang Theory” was ending in an interview with Variety’s Kate Arthur last month. She remembered being summoned to co-creator Chuck Lorre’s office and believed the meeting was for season 13.

Cuoco was “shocked,” but Parsons was there to deliver the bad news that he couldn’t stay on the program. Even though she “truly did” want to continue filming “The Big Bang Theory,” the actress stated she accepted her co-star’s choices.

“We’re all for one, one for all. And we’re not going to do this without the whole team,” she said, adding, “That was the one thing we all agreed on — we came in together, we go out together.”
