Charli D’Amelio can’t seem to catch a break.  She’s under criticism once again, this time for an event that some fans are calling a “scam.”

Charli D’Amelio has become one of the world’s largest influencers after being the first to reach 100 million followers on TikTok for her amusing dancing videos. She has built a tremendous online following across many platforms.

This time, however, her followers and even their parents are outraged because of a Zoom call event that occurred on Saturday, December 5th. The event sold out in minutes, but not everyone who bought a ticket got to meet their favorite Tik Toker.

The TikTok star recently revealed that she will be publishing a book on her career called “Essentially Charli: The Ultimate Guide To Keeping It Real,” as well as having a virtual Zoom webinar to interact with some of her fans.

To participate in the virtual event and get the opportunity to ask Charli some of the most pressing questions about her debut book, fans had to purchase tickets ranging in price from twenty to sixty-five dollars. It’s unclear why certain tickets were more expensive than others, given that every participant had an equal chance of having their questions addressed. As soon as the event was marked as ‘sold out,’ Charli’s followers went to social media to express how delighted they were to meet their favorite internet celebrity. But they had no idea that the event was about to take a different turn than they had anticipated.

Some attendees who purchased virtual webinar tickets said they were unable to join Charli’s Zoom session and condemned the TikTok star’s management of the event.

To say the least, the fans who were left out were outraged, and Charli’s virtual event is now being referred to as a fraud. It’s unknown why so many individuals were unable to attend the meeting, as neither Charli nor her team have commented on the matter. Some Twitter users speculated that the issue might have stemmed from the fact that the meeting had hit its maximum zoom call capacity before everyone had a chance to attend. Whatever the case may have been, Charli’s supporters feel that her team should have been better prepared for the high number of individuals who wanted to participate in the event. They are to blame!

TikTokInsiders, an Instagram page, was the first to post the backlash, which featured photographs of a fan’s receipt to the live Q&A and their claims of being unable to join the Zoom session.

“A lot of people paid for Charli’s book Zoom event thing, including me, and didn’t get to join,” they said, expressing dissatisfaction with the way it was conducted.

And Charli D’Amelio’s virtual book event drama didn’t end there! Even those of those who got to practically hang out with the popular Tik Toker weren’t quite pleased with how the event was handled. ‘’I paid thirty dollars for a Zoom to meet Charli for her not to answer any of my questions and I asked fourteen questions!” commented one of Charli’s zoom event participants. Others took to social media to voice their displeasure with Charli and her team’s choice to charge young fans for the opportunity to interact with their idol online, arguing that the meeting should have been free.
