Justin Bieber faced criticism again last night after appearing to spit on his own fans from a hotel balcony.

Hundreds of fans gathered this week outside Toronto’s Hazelton Hotel, where Justin was staying, to get a peek at their favorite celebrity.

Their wishes were granted when the celebrity appeared on his balcony with a group of friends, waved to his followers, took a video of them, and thanked them on Instagram. “I wake up this morning to this :0 Best fans in the wotrld. #beliebers #sexyfans,” he wrote.

However, while his delighted companions watched, the pop singer later spat towards his fans. The paparazzi who had gathered at the scene also photographed Bieber in the act.

The singer seemed happy with himself, returning to his circle of adoring buddies to laugh and take photos of them and the fans, who were showered with his spit.

According to his reps, Justin Bieber did not spit on a group of fans last month.

Last week, photographs of the 19-year-old pop singer spitting over a balcony in Toronto surfaced on TMZ, along with a pair of photos showing a bunch of Beliebers allegedly standing right below him.

But his people, or one of his people claim Bieber didn’t do it. According to Bieber’s representative, who is possibly the slimiest and most pitifully weary man in showbiz:

“Justin didn’t spit on anyone. No fans were below the balcony,” his rep says. “TMZ superimposed photos of the fans next to Justin on a completely different balcony to make it appear like he was spitting on fans when he wasn’t. In fact, earlier in the day, Justin bought his fans hot chocolate and played them some of his new music. Justin loves his fans.”

The rep added: “At what point are we going to start demanding that journalists actually fact-check? And at what point does the media have to have some kind of standard or some kind of integrity?”

That same morning, Bieber posted an Instagram video professing his gratitude to his followers, writing, “I wake up this morning to this. 🙂 best fans in the world. #beliebers #sexyfans.”

Bieber, for his part, has been silent about the event on Twitter, although he has been preoccupied with other matters. On Saturday, July 27, he attended a birthday celebration in Malibu, California, for on-again, off-again lover Selena Gomez.

“Selena invited him,” a source tells Us. “It was sweet that he came. They are just friends, but it goes back and forth. They are so young, so it’s not one thing. They are always friends but still have strong feelings for each other. It’s not a black and white, on or off thing.”

The singer, who was recently accused of spitting on a neighbor last month, is presently on the North American leg of his ‘Believe’ tour.
