According to authorities, actress Sean Young was detained following a confrontation with a security officer at the official post-Oscars party.

Around 10:30 p.m., the actress, who starred in Blade Runner, Wall Street, and other 1980s films, was arrested for misdemeanor battery. Further information was not provided by an LAPD representative.

She was freed early Monday after posting $20,000 bail, according to City News Service.

According to Tom Januszewski, an Associated Press business executive who observed the event, the actress was taken into jail swiftly. He claimed to have witnessed a guard overpower Young by resting his forearm on her neck and head as other guards handcuffed her and carried her away.

He said that while the guards were aggressive with Young, they did not use unwarranted force. “I thought it was incredibly well-handled.”

Young was dressed in a gala gown and said nothing as she was taken away, according to Januszewski.

Meanwhile, TMZ said that Young was arrested after reportedly slapping a security officer at the party. According to TMZ, the incident occurred after the security observed that the actress was waiting at the Governors’ entrance without a ticket for the event and ordered her to leave twice.

Young was seen leaving the police station early Monday morning, according to TMZ, and said she was waiting with pals to enter the Governor’s Ball when an Oscar official recommended security conduct a citizen’s arrest. According to the website, she made no mention of any physical altercation with a security guard.

The Governor’s Ball is the official Oscar party, hosted above the Hollywood & Highland Theatre, which hosts the awards program. “Stripes” and “No Way Out” are among Young’s film credits.

In 2006, the actress attempted to disrupt the Vanity Fair Oscar party. After being booted from the Directors Guild of America awards in 2008, she underwent treatment for alcohol problems.

Tarrah Lee Curtis, spokesperson for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, did not immediately answer a voicemail message left early Monday. Young’s agent, David Shapira, did not respond to a phone message left for him.
