According to the Sun, David Hasselhoff was fired from America’s Got Talent due to allegations that he has a drinking problem.

After four years as a judge with Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, Hasselhoff is stepping aside.

In a statement to People magazine, Hasselhoff said, “I am proud that I was a part of making ‘America’s Got Talent’ the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers. It’s been a rewarding experience and now I’m thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly.”

Friends of the show’s executive producer, Simon Cowell, said on Thursday night that he had no role in the decision.

They emphasized that the X Factor boss was still friends with Hasselhoff, who is slated to be replaced by Howie Mandel, the host of the US game show Deal Or No Deal.

The actor/singer, who has struggled with alcoholism, did not provide any other information about his next endeavor.

According to show sources, a replacement will now be sought to join Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan on the panel when the show’s fifth season premieres in the summer.

“David’s been an integral part of the success of America’s Got Talent and we are sad to see him go. We wish him all the best with his new show.,” said NBC, the US network that broadcasts the program.

On Nick Cannon’s talent show, a hunt for a new judge is now underway.

However, it has been discovered that the 57-year-old was fired by TV executives due to allegations that his drinking had rendered his position unsustainable.

Although Hasselhoff was not fired, his contract was not extended.

“I want to thank my friend Simon Cowell for four great years,” ex-Knight Rider star Hasselhoff remarked.

Some marketers were concerned about his image, according to show sources.

In October, he revealed how he was taken to a rehab facility after thumping a doctor during a crazy night out.

He was also allegedly escorted out through a back door at Cowell’s 50th birthday party when he became too inebriated and began cursing.

An insider said: “This has built up for some time.

“David has been in the papers a lot for his drunken behavior and he doesn’t seem to want to clean up his act.

“He was absolutely devastated at the news. The show provided the majority of his income.”
