Dannielynn Birkhead, the daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith, is now 16 years old and has been out of the public eye for some time.
Anna Nicole, a former model and Playboy Playmate, announced her second pregnancy in June of 2006 while seeking refuge from the spotlight in the Bahamas.
At that time, she did not reveal the identity of the child’s father.
Dannielynn was born on September 7, 2006, while Anna Nicole was still in the Bahamas.
On the birth certificate, Howard K. Stern, who was Anna Nicole’s lawyer, was listed as Dannielynn’s father and he maintained his paternity claim in subsequent interviews.
However, after Anna Nicole’s death, a paternity test revealed that photographer Larry Birkhead was actually Dannielynn’s biological father.
Following Anna Nicole’s tragic death in 2007, Dannielynn became the subject of a highly publicized custody battle between Stern and Birkhead.
In 2009, a judge ruled that Birkhead was the legal father and awarded him full custody of Dannielynn.
