Tom Cruise has reportedly agreed to pay $400,000 annually in child support for his daughter Suri until she reaches the age of 18.

This comes after the finalization of his divorce with Katie Holmes, who had filed for divorce in June of the same year.

The couple was married for five years before the split, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

Details of the out of court settlement have now surfaced, indicating that Cruise will pay $4.8 million in total over the next 12 years, equating to over $33,000 each month.

The actor will also cover Suri’s medical, education, and extracurricular expenses, as agreed upon.

Despite the sizeable sum, Holmes will not receive any portion of Cruise’s $250 million fortune due to the prenuptial agreement, according to the celebrity website TMZ.

The prenuptial agreement had already defined the terms of the split between the couple before the actual divorce proceedings began.

Holmes had surprised Cruise with the divorce filing in June, which occurred while Cruise was filming a movie in Iceland.

Sources suggest that Suri will be primarily based in Manhattan, New York, with visits from Cruise.

The settlement ensures that Suri’s needs are taken care of, including education, health, and other expenses.

The specifics of these needs have not been disclosed, but it is expected that Suri will be well taken care of given the significant amount agreed upon by Cruise.

Cruise has been vocal about his love for Suri, whom he adopted with Holmes.

In a 2006 interview with People, he said, “It’s something that has to be experienced to be understood. I can’t even describe what it’s like, but I feel that I was born to be her father.”

The settlement has not been confirmed by either party.

However, the details provided by TMZ suggest that the website may have reliable sources within the celebrity community.

Despite the challenges of co-parenting after a divorce, both Cruise and Holmes appear to be prioritizing Suri’s well-being.

The arrangement ensures that Suri will have financial security until she becomes an adult, giving her a strong foundation for the future.
