US model Emily Ratajkowski has said in a new interview that she does not believe in straight people.

The statement came during a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar for the magazine’s November issue.

The outlet asked Ratajkowski about a TikTok trend that jokes about women who own green couches being bisexual.

In response, Ratajkowski said, “I think sexuality is on a sliding scale. I don’t really believe in straight people.”

Ratajkowski, who is 31 years old and recently became a single mother, went on to explain that the topic came up when her girlfriend visited her and saw her large green couch.

Ratajkowski said, “My girlfriend came over and was like, ‘B**ch, have you seen the green-couch thing?’ She was laughing at me because my green couch is so big.”

The model also talked about her desire to have fun with how she presents herself to the world without feeling like she needs to adhere to certain labels or expectations.

She said, “I want to be able to have fun with how I present myself in the world without feeling like I’m a bad feminist or a good feminist. Duh.

“I don’t want to be a part of your club if you don’t want to have me. It’s fine!”

Ratajkowski, who shares one-year-old son Sylvester Apollo with film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, added that her son’s happiness and wellbeing is now her top priority.

The couple filed for divorce in September after getting married in 2018. Ratajkowski said, “I’ve never had such clear priorities before in my life. Number one is Sly, and that’s that.”

The model also talked about how motherhood has changed her perspective. She said, “It’s made me re-evaluate what’s important to me, like, what do I want to teach my son?”

In addition to being a mother and model, Ratajkowski is also diving into the podcast world. Her new show, High Low with EmRata, is set to launch this week.

She will cover a range of topics and have guest speakers on the show, with two episodes available to all listeners and a third episode exclusively for paid subscribers.

Ratajkowski described the podcast as a mix of Call Her Daddy and Fresh Air. She also mentioned that she will do solo episodes in a segment called EmRata Asks.

Ratajkowski said, “There’s going to be a lot of stuff that is about women, just because that’s what I’m interested in. I have to be honest, I totally love it.”

Since Ratajkowski and Bear-McClard filed for divorce, the model has been dating but is not open to discussing the details of her split from the film producer out of respect for their son’s privacy.

Ratajkowski said, “I can tell you that I have never been single before. I feel all the emotions. I feel anger, sadness. I feel excitement. I feel joy. I feel levity. Every day is different.”

“The only good thing I know is that I’m feeling all those things, which is nice because it makes me believe that I’ll be OK.”
