Melissa Benoist, the actress who plays Supergirl, experienced a costume malfunction while filming scenes for the third season of the show in Vancouver, Canada.

The windy weather caused Benoist’s skirt to blow up, revealing more than intended to onlookers.

Benoist quickly wrapped her iconic red cape around her to cover up the incident between takes.

Several other main cast members were also present on set, including Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen/Guardian, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Chris Wood as Mon-El, and Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El.

The scene being filmed depicted Supergirl looking worried, with Alura Zor-El placing a reassuring hand on her arm.

The group then looked up to the sky, seemingly bracing for some sort of impact.

Benoist was also seen getting ready to run, and her hair was blown around by the wind. At one point, Benoist and Leigh had to have their makeup touched up between takes.

Brooks, dressed in a silver costume and helmet, was seen standing next to Wood’s character Mon-El, who was suited up in his superhero costume.

Durance, wearing a red and black costume with a Supergirl “S” on the front, was seen motioning to Supergirl, who flashed a smile back.

In addition to the costume malfunction, Benoist also showed off her impressive biceps, which were visible through her red, blue, and gold Supergirl costume.

In a previous film set of Supergirl, Benoist was also spotted dancing between takes.

It is unclear if the scene being filmed in Vancouver will be included in the season finale of Supergirl’s third season.

However, the presence of several main cast members suggests that it may be an important scene.

Fun fact:

Lois Lane was the first character to portray Supergirl in a story published in 1943.

In the story, which appeared in Action Comics #60, Lois was depicted in a hospital and dreamed of gaining Superman’s powers through a blood transfusion.

She even wore her own Supergirl costume in the dream.

This was a unique twist on the Supergirl character, as the iconic superhero is typically portrayed as Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El.
