Heather Locklear is putting to rest long-held rumors that she may be joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Locklear was asked if she would be joining her Melrose Place co-star Lisa Rinna on a future season of the successful reality series during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday, but the actress stated categorically that she had no plans to do so.

Locklear acknowledged she’s “not interesting enough” during her appearance on the afternoon TV show.

“I’m so not interesting, no. I’m so not interesting enough, and I don’t drink,” said Locklear, who recently marked two and a half years of sobriety. “You know, I’m like, ‘Eh, that’s not quite what I want to do.'”

Locklear’s comments come only months after In Touch Weekly claimed in January that RHOBH producer Andy Cohen had approached her on many occasions about joining the program. Locklear is “perfect Housewife,” a source told the magazine, adding that the actress’ enormous fan following from her appearances on Melrose Place and Dynasty were intriguing and would make her “representatives think it might be a good way for her to stay accountable and sober.” Cohen “has been after [Heather] to join the show for years,” according to the source.

Locklear, on the other hand, did not address the news that she had been contacted by Bravo about joining the group during her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday.

Though Locklear has no plans to pursue diamond status, viewers may recall her being mentioned at the show’s season 10 reunion last year. Rinna brought up Richards’ feud with Locklear during a dispute with Denise Richards, who has since left the show, which Richards branded a “low” blow. (Locklear, 50, and Richards, 50, both had a famous ex: Richards dated Richie Sambora for almost a year after his divorce from Locklear.)

The actress intends to pursue other interests. She’s now slated to star in a Lifetime film directed by Meghan McCain.

According to ET Online, the film Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story also includes Candace Cameron Bure’s daughter, Natasha Bure.

The film follows Kristine (Locklear) as her life falls apart after her spouse’s untimely death, and is based on the book series co-authored by Kristine Carlson and her late husband Dr. Richard Carlson (Jason MacDonald).

On The Kelly Clarkson Show, Locklear stated, “It’s really about her and her daughters trying to make the journey through, you know, the death of the father and the love of her life. They were very, very spiritual.”

Lockear also claimed she didn’t want to do something frivolous during her interview on Good Morning America on Thursday. “I wanted to do something that had its weight. And I prayed to God that whatever lands in my lap, I wanted it to be spiritual. It was strange and it landed in my lap. It’s all about loss and recovery and coming back from a loss and I just like the depth of it. I loved the books and I love Kris.”
