Why Bridgeton Star Phoebe Dynevor & Pete Davidson Broke Up

While Bridgerton was extended for a second season, Pete Davidson and Phoebe Dynevor’s romance was not, after dating for five months. Pete, 27, and Phoebe, 26, appeared to be unable to overcome the distance. “Pete and Phoebe just happen to be in a situation where distance made the heart forget, not grow fonder,” a source exclusively told HollywoodLife. “He is working on his own stuff, and she is doing the same. [Plus], with [the] pandemic [affecting people] getting around, it just happened to be a hassle in between all the fun they had.”

The pair had only been dating for a few months when he was seen paying a visit to her birthplace outside of Manchester.

“Pete and Phoebe’s romance was a real whirlwind, and they were both totally committed from the start,” an insider told the tabloids.

They added: “’It was pretty telling when Phoebe headed to Croatia with her mates this week rather than going to see Pete in America.

“It was wild while it lasted… But the distance has put a strain on them. They will remain close but unless something drastic changes their relationship won’t recover.”

Rumors that the two stars were dating began to circulate in March 2021, and intensified when they were photographed wearing identical necklaces displaying their identical initials, PD, in early April. They attended a Wimbledon tournament together in July, and the world was envious of how in love they seemed.

It’s conceivable, though, that Pete and Phoebe’s romance isn’t over yet. “If they meet up down the line and get to spend more time with each other, the door isn’t exactly closed,” the insider tells HollywoodLife. “But for now, they are chalking this up with work getting in the way and being young.” Thankfully, things ended on a nice note, with a source claiming that Phoebe and Pete have “no ill feelings” and that their breakup is “just life.”

A second insider tells HollywoodLife, “There are absolutely no hard feelings between him and Phoebe, and he still cares about her very much. But they knew what they were getting into when they started dating and sort of got lost in the romance of it all. But they’re both professionals with two very busy schedules, so they knew they wanted to take advantage of the time they had together while they had the chance. There’s no telling what the future holds, but that door is open if the opportunity presents itself.”

According to other reports, they met through her Bridgerton co-star Rege-Jean Page, who starred on Saturday Night Live with Davidson the same month. Nothing, however, has been confirmed.

Regardless of the jokes, Davidson and Dynevor definitely made the best decision for themselves, and they can now focus on their individual projects. Davidson will star in Meet Cute with Kaoco alongside his current Saturday Night Live work, while Dynevor will continue to appear in popular Netflix program Bridgerton—at least once production can resume—among other intriguing parts.

Davison has dated a slew of famous women before Dynevor, including Carly Aquilino, Cazzie David, Margaret Qualley, and Kaia Gerber. He was most famous for being engaged to Ariana Grande, but the couple broke up, inspiring her song “thank u, next.” In 2019, Davidson dated actress Kate Beckinsale for three months after ending his relationship with Grande. Because of their huge age gap, their romance attracted news. Davidson just ended his engagement with Dynevor, adding to his long record of failed celebrity relationships.

Dynevor has dated other men in the film business, but her list isn’t as long or as illustrious as Davidson’s.
