Rege-Jean Page, the star of Bridgerton, has denied dating his co-star Phoebe Dynevor.

The actor, 31, and actress, 25, look to have a very strong bond on the show, so it’s no surprise that fans of the historical drama believe the couple is dating in real life.

When questioned about relationship rumors during a joint appearance with Access Hollywood on Saturday, January 9, the British actor remained coy.

“I think everything you need to know is on camera,” he said.

“All the sparks that flew came off the beautiful scripts we were handed. So I think that the sparky words, scripts and material are more than enough.”

Despite the fact that Rege and Phoebe were in completely separate locations, interviewer Kit Hoover joked that they were ‘actually together.’

Page replied, “We’re playing footsie under here,” while gesturing toward his costar.

Bridgerton, based on Julia Quinn’s novel series, has become a Netflix fan favorite since its launch on Christmas Day, fast becoming one of the streaming platform’s most-watched original programs.

The relationship between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe) and Simon Basset (Rege) is the focus of the historical drama, but there are seven additional volumes in the series that follow other siblings in the prominent family.

Dynevor previously stated that the “first ever scene” she shot for the show consisted of co-star Page having oral sex with her.

“It was in episode six, where Simon is going down on Daphne,” she told Grazia.

“And it was so great, because it felt safe and fun: you choreograph it like a stunt, or a dance. It’s crazy to me that [an intimacy coordinator] hasn’t been there in the past.”

She added: “I love Daphne’s coming-of-age story and her sexual awakening. I love… watching her figure it out for herself. She’s a late bloomer, but it’s not like she can google it.”

In addition to debunking speculations regarding his love life, Page addressed reports that he could be the next Bond.

On Friday, January 8, the Roots alum told Jimmy Fallon that James Bond rumors are all too typical for British performers, adding that it’s “one of the more pleasant” stories that have circulated online.

A second season of Bridgerton has yet to be confirmed, but we don’t understand why Netflix would refuse further episodes…
