Jennie Garth has always adored her BH90210 co-star Shannen Doherty, but it wasn’t always like this.

When asked about the worst fight they ever had while shooting the legendary ’90s sitcom, actor Jennie Garth remembered how an incident with Shannen Doherty turned violent while promoting the show’s impending revival, with Tori Spelling on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.”

‘We were young and and so stupid,’ she admitted, adding that Tori Spelling, a co-star and friend of both actresses, would often play ‘peacekeeper’ between them.

“I can only remember one incident and that was when, yeah, we took it outside,” the What I Like About You alum continued. “I’m a midwestern girl. I spent some time in Glendale, Arizona, and that makes you tough.”

He then inquired as to who had won the fight.

“The guys that held us back,” she said, “So, we never actually [did anything].”

As she sat opposite Jennie on Andy Cohen’s talk program, Tori Spelling, 46, vividly recalled this (near) showdown. Tori chose to remain in her dressing room, where she was “shaking,” since she was not one to choose sides!

Garth, 47, claims Doherty, 48, “pulled her skirt up” and instigated the fight.

“We were teasing, yeah, I didn’t care for that,” Garth admitted, motioning her hands up. “Like who does that? I wouldn’t do that to someone. … I’m pretty sure I got in her face. We are just both very strong, Aries women. We don’t back down no matter what.”

Spelling had to be the “peacekeeper” between the castmates, according to Garth, “because she loved us both.” Garth and Doherty, on the other hand, appear to have put their disagreements aside. Garth even expressed her delight at Doherty’s return to BH90210.

“We were locked in this sound stage for 14-16 hours every day,” Jennie wrote in her 2014 memoir Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, referring to her tumultuous relationship with Shannen. “There were times when we loved each other and there were times when we wanted to claw each other’s eyes out.”

Doherty departed the original Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1994, but both ladies reprised their roles in the CW’s revival, 90210, which aired from 2008 to 2013. The ladies also acknowledged reports of a violent brawl in an interview with Entertainment Weekly to promote the revival, which Spelling had included in her 2008 book, sTORI Telling.

“A fistfight? That makes us sound so tough,” Garth said.

“I know. Like we were serious gangsters,” Doherty added.

“I don’t think we ever hit each other,” Garth remarked when asked to explain, while Doherty conceded, “We had our moments.”

“I just remember being outside and the boys having to try to settle us down,” Garth recalled.

Doherty concurred, “We never punched each other.”

“Scratching? I’m not going to deny that,” Garth concluded.

The debut of BH90210 will air on Fox on Wednesday, August 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
