Anna Gunn looks smaller while accepting an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress on Sunday. The “Breaking Bad” actress claimed that her weight increase during filming was due to an illness.

Gunn won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in 2013 for her portrayal as Skyler White in the blockbuster drama.

Breaking Bad fans pounced on Anna Gunn on social media when she gained a few pounds — despite the fact that she was far from overweight.

The 45-year-old actress disclosed to People magazine that she faced physical challenges on the set.

“I was actually ill while filming the show, and it affected my weight,” Gunn told the gossip magazine at the Governors Ball after the ceremony.

“They gave me cortisone, and I puffed up and gained weight. Now I’m better, thank God.”

According to Everyday Health, cortisone is a steroid used to prevent inflammation in the body for ailments such as “allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders,” according to Everyday Health. According to Drugs.com, it can cause edema and fast weight gain, which are symptoms similar to those reported by Gunn.

The 45-year-old looked great on Sunday’s red carpet in a strapless white floor-length Romona Keveza with a lace overlay, showcasing her much slimmer figure.

Many Emmy viewers, however, were concerned that Gunn appeared a touch too thin, especially in comparison to the larger shape she wore at the 2012 ceremonies.

“Am I the only person in the Twitterverse that thought Anna Gunn looked like she was starving?” enquired one viewer in a tweet picked up by the Daily Mail.

Gunn also attributed her weight loss on her daughters, saying, “I run around after two kids! And I do Pilates.”

As the series finale on Sunday approached, Gunn began to reflect on her time on the blockbuster AMC program about a chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin.

“I didn’t know how dark this show would get,” Gunn told the Daily News in August. “I don’t know that any of us knew.”

The actress’ victory was not only for the actress, but also for her character, who has become one of the most despised on television as the wife of protagonist and teacher turned drug lord, Walter White.

Skylar’s unwillingness to back down and support her husband’s criminal ambitions has resulted in hate pages for both the character and Anna herself.
