In a magazine interview, Elin Nordegren broke her nine-month quiet over the collapse of her marriage to Tiger Woods, just two days after the divorce was finalized.

Elin, a 30-year-old Swedish model, told People magazine that she was ‘blindsided’ and ’embarrassed’ when she learned about Woods’ affairs, particularly because the rest of the world quickly learned about her personal life.

In what she claims would be her last interview, she says, “I’m so embarrassed that I never suspected — not a one. For the past 3 1/2 years, when all this was going on, I was home a lot more with pregnancies, then the children and my school.”

Elin is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in abnormal human behavior.

“I felt stupid as more things were revealed — how could I not have known anything? The word ‘betrayal’ isn’t strong enough. I felt embarrassed for having been so deceived.

“I felt betrayed by many people around me. … Initially, I thought we had a chance, and we tried really hard.”

On Monday, Ms Nordegren, 30, and Woods, 34, were both present in Bay County Circuit Court in Florida as their attorneys submitted the papers dissolving their six-year marriage. The divorce settlement was not made public.

Elin also said that she has begun to accept her predicament.

‘I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children,’ she added.

“My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal.”

‘I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.’

After crashing his vehicle into a tree outside his Florida family home in November of last year, Tiger’s hookups became public.

Elin categorically denied swinging a golf club at Woods or pursuing him before he wrecked his Lincoln Escalade 4×4.

‘There was never any violence inside or outside our home,’ she claimed.

‘The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just truly ridiculous.’

Sam Alexis, 3, and Charlie Axel, 1, are the couple’s two children.
