Actress Selma Blair has been carried off a plane on a stretcher following an alleged outburst, according to reports.

The 43-year-old star was travelling on a Delta flight from Cancun, Mexico, to Los Angeles on Monday.

It is believed Blair was drinking alcohol while taking an unknown prescription medication.

Her alleged behaviour led to concerns from the flight crew, prompting them to call for emergency services upon arrival in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed it had received a call at 2.54pm for an individual who was sick on a plane.

An eyewitness stated that Blair was seated in first class at the time of the alleged outburst, and that the actress appeared to be mixing medication with alcohol.

A source told People magazine: “It looks like she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol.

We don’t know what sort of prescription medications.” Blair had been travelling with her four-year-old son Arthur at the time.

The source added: “She customarily drinks, but doesn’t normally mix alcohol with prescription medication.”

“She must have felt sick and it just hit her when she was on the plane. She was crying and kept saying, ‘I’m sorry’.”

The actress was taken to hospital after the incident.

Blair’s ex-partner, fashion designer Jason Bleick, had reportedly joined her in Cancun to celebrate Father’s Day with their son.

It was not clear why Blair was travelling alone with her son on the flight.

The actress has a history of making headlines for her off-screen behaviour, including an arrest in 2010 for allegedly driving under the influence.

Blair has starred in a number of films and television shows, including Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde and Anger Management.

She has been a vocal advocate for humanitarian causes, including animal rights and HIV/AIDS research.

Blair was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, and has since spoken about her experience with the disease in interviews and on social media.

The actress has also been open about her struggles with mental health issues, including depression and anxiety.

In a 2012 interview with People magazine, Blair said: “I have a tendency to be really hard on myself I’m not good at not feeling guilty.” She added that she had sought help from a therapist and that she was “in a good place now”.

Blair’s alleged behaviour on the flight has prompted concern from her fans and fellow celebrities.

Actress Jaime King tweeted: “Sending so much love and healing to @SelmaBlair. I hope you recover quickly and find peace.”
