Rosie Perez, the American actress and trailblazer, recently talked about her career, her love for boxing, and her experience with the casting couch.

Perez has been in the entertainment industry for over three decades and has starred in numerous films and television shows, including Do the Right Thing and The Flight Attendant.

Despite her success, Perez had to overcome both misogyny and racism to make it to the top.

On Saturday night, Perez was at Madison Square Garden, cheering on Amanda Serrano during her historic fight against Katie Taylor.

Serrano is a fellow Puerto Rican from Brooklyn, and Perez is known in boxing circles as “the first lady of boxing.”

Although Perez was disappointed that Serrano didn’t win the fight, she acknowledged that it was one of the best fights in history.

During an interview with The Guardian, Perez discussed her love for boxing and how it has been a part of her life since she was a child.

“I grew up in a boxing family. My uncle was a professional boxer, my cousin was a professional boxer, my grandfather was a trainer. It’s in my blood,” she said.

Perez also talked about how boxing helps her deal with stress and anxiety.

“When I’m in the ring, I’m not thinking about anything else. I’m just thinking about the fight. It’s a great stress reliever.”

Perez’s acting career began in the late 1980s when she was discovered by Spike Lee, who cast her in Do the Right Thing.

Despite her talent, Perez faced numerous obstacles in Hollywood, including racism and sexism.

She recalled a time when a casting director told her that she was “too Puerto Rican” for a role.

“I was devastated. I went home and cried,” she said. Perez also talked about the casting couch, saying that she had experienced it early in her career.

“Every guy was hitting on me. It was like a feeding frenzy,” she said.

Despite the challenges, Perez continued to work hard and build her career.

In recent years, she has been more in demand than ever, thanks in part to her role in The Flight Attendant.

“It’s been wonderful. It’s been a great blessing. And it’s just been really lovely to be embraced at this point in my career,” she said.

Perez also talked about her experience with Botox, saying that she had tried it in the past but didn’t like the way it made her feel.

“I tried it once, and I didn’t like the way I looked. I didn’t like the way it made me feel. It made me feel like I couldn’t express myself,” she said.

However, Perez acknowledged that there was pressure in Hollywood to look young and beautiful.

“It’s a very youth-oriented business. And it’s not just women. It’s men, too. There’s a lot of pressure to look a certain way,” she said.

Despite the pressure, Perez is comfortable with aging and embracing her natural beauty.

“I’m not going to lie and say that I’m not affected by it. But at the same time, I’m comfortable in my own skin. I’m comfortable with the way I look,” she said.
