Award-winning actress Julianne Moore has starred in a variety of successful film roles across different genres.

In 2005, Moore explored the romantic comedy genre with Trust the Man, which featured an all-star cast including David Duchovny and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Directed by Bart Freundlich, who happens to be Moore’s husband, the film was inspired by one of the actress’ real-life incidents that could have ended tragically.

Moore and Freundlich have worked together in three films, including Trust the Man, The Myth of Fingerprints, and After the Wedding.

Working with her husband was a comfortable experience for Moore as she has complete trust in his talent as a filmmaker.

“We’ve been together for ten years, and in any relationship that’s going to be authentic.

There is a degree of intimacy that happens.

You are each other’s family.

It was really fun for me.

I really enjoyed it tremendously.

He’s great, and everybody always says that, but it’s true.

He’s a great director.

He knows how to speak to everybody in the way that they liked to be spoken to,” said Moore in an interview with MovieWeb.

One scene in the film was based on a real-life incident that happened to Moore.

Her character tries to go on a no-carb diet and ends up choking on a piece of cake that she ate in front of her on-screen husband Duchovny.

This scene had uncanny similarities to an incident that happened to Moore.

“That was based on something that actually happened to me,” she revealed.

“Because Bart’s birthday’s in January, and so it’s always kind of around the Golden Globes.

And, y’know, you’re always nervous, you don’t really eat.

And I think I was waiting for Bart to do something, and I kept slicing up pieces of cake until eventually I sucked it in and choked.

So, we put it in the movie because we thought it would be fun.”

Moore’s family life with her children was also used for the film.

In one scene, Moore’s character is accidentally hit by a ball used by her on-screen child.

But this incident was similar to what Moore experienced with her own kids.

“I’m always the one that gets hit with the balls,” Moore joked about her children playing with balls around her.

In an interview with You, Moore confessed that her husband wasn’t enthusiastic about her love scenes in films.

However, she appreciates his feelings and considers them a healthy response.

“He hates it ‒ which I love about him.

It is funny because I have to say, ‘It literally is work…’ But I understand it, and I think it’s healthy.

If you felt it was OK for people to kiss your wife, it would be sort of weird.

But yeah, he doesn’t love that,” Moore said about her husband’s attitude towards her romantic scenes.

Moore has won various accolades throughout her career, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and numerous nominations for her outstanding performances in films such as Still Alice, The Hours, and Boogie Nights.

Although she has primarily focused on dramatic roles, she has also demonstrated her versatility in other genres, including action, comedy, and science fiction.
