Victoria Bonya exposes too much of herself accidentally

Victoria Bonya, a Russian TV presenter, actress and model, was one of the first to suffer a wardrobe malfunction on the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival.

She arrived wearing a show-stopping aquamarine gown with an almost waist-high split at the front, revealing her n^de underwear as the voluminous skirt came apart.

Despite her attempts to conceal her modesty, the faux pas was caught on camera on numerous occasions.

Bonya completed her outfit with a silver clutch and matching stilettos, statement earrings and lashings of eye makeup.

She shared a number of snaps with her 5.9 million Instagram followers, including the caption: Im in love with my dress by @maison_estheremaryline. Leaving my hotel for the #openingceremony of #CannesFilmFestival. Do you like my outfit??

Actress Patricia Contreras also suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the same event.

Her lilac strapless gown, which had been embellished with ornate beads across the bodice, saw her accidentally unveil her left n^pp|e.

Fellow attendee Hofit Golan rushed to give her a hand.

The premiere of Spanish-language thriller Everybody Knows, directed by Asghar Farhadi, was attended by a host of stars including Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Kristen Stewart, Cate Blanchett and Georgia May Jagger.

Cruz and husband Bardem star in the film.

The festival, which is now in its 71st year, will run from 8 to 19 May.

The festival is known for showcasing a wide range of international films, including documentaries and auteur cinema.

There are 21 films in competition for the coveted Palme d’Or prize, including Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, Jean-Luc Godard’s The Image Book, and three films by female directors: Eva Husson’s Girls of the Sun, Alice Rohrwacher’s Happy as Lazzaro and Nadine Labaki’s Capernaum.

The festival opened with the screening of Everybody Knows, which is set in Spain and stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

The film follows Laura, played by Cruz, as she returns to her hometown from Buenos Aires with her Argentinian husband Paco.

A family drama soon ensues with secrets and lies threatening to tear them apart.

As well as the competition and opening night films, Cannes will also feature a series of special screenings including the season three premiere of Twin Peaks, which is directed by David Lynch.

The series aired on Showtime in the US last year.

The festival is also expected to see a number of high-profile red carpet appearances from Hollywood stars, with the likes of Cate Blanchett, Kristen Stewart, and Nicole Kidman expected to attend.

Cannes is known for its glamorous parties, and this year is no exception with events being held by luxury brands including Chopard, Bulgari and Vanity Fair.

The festival is set to attract a number of high-profile celebrities, including models Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who have previously attended the event.
