Musician John Mayer has responded in his trademark style to Katy Perry’s ranking of his s**ual prowess during a game of Truth or Dare on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
Perry was asked to rank three of her former partners – Mayer, Orlando Bloom and Diplo – in bed.
She placed Mayer at the top, followed by Bloom and then Diplo.
Mayer was asked by Rolling Stone magazine to comment on Perry’s verdict and replied: “I don’t have a cool-enough thought for you.”
Mayer added: “I’ve hacked this game. I pay very little of the price of fame now.”
“I get to play the music that moves me the most.”
“I’m having the time of my life. I’m 39. I remember 32. I don’t wanna do it again.”
Perry and Mayer had an on-off relationship from 2012 until splitting in 2015.
Diplo, who was ranked last, responded to Perry’s verdict in a tweet, saying: “I don’t even remember having s**…I won the bronze metal in s** Olympics.”
Perry is currently promoting her fifth studio album, Witness, which was released in June.
She recently extended her Witness tour to include dates in the UK and Europe.
Mayer’s opinion on s** is well documented.
In an interview with Playboy in 2010, he compared s** with his then-girlfriend Jessica Simpson to “s**ual napalm”.
Simpson replied: “He’ll never have this napalm again.” Mayer later apologised for the interview.
Despite his reputation, Mayer has been linked to a number of high-profile stars, including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
In 2016, he was rumoured to be dating Demi Lovato.
However, Mayer’s Twitter account was hacked earlier this year, with the hacker posting a number of racist and offensive tweets before the account was suspended.
Mayer’s music career took off in the early 2000s with the release of his debut album, Room for Squares.
He has since released six more albums, with his latest – The Search for Everything – released earlier this year.
Mayer has also won seven Grammy Awards and has collaborated with a number of artists, including Kanye West, Frank Ocean and Beyoncé.
Perry, meanwhile, has become one of the biggest-selling artists of all time, with more than 100 million records sold worldwide.
Her hits include I Kissed a Girl, Firework and Roar.
Perry has also been a judge on American Idol and has appeared in a number of films and TV shows, including Zoolander 2 and How I Met Your Mother.
Perry has been discussing her personal life more frequently in recent interviews, including a livestreamed therapy session in which she opened up about suicidal thoughts.
Perry has also spoken about her long-running feud with Swift, claiming that it was caused by a misunderstanding over backing dancers.
Mayer, who has been touring recently, has been discussing his music as well as his personal life.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, he discussed his reputation as a womaniser, saying: “I’m not having s** with these people. That’s where it becomes a different thing. I’m not jaunting around the world having s** with everyone.”
Mayer has been linked to a number of stars in the past, including Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson.
