Actor Gary Busey has apologized for his behavior on the Oscar red carpet last month.

During a live interview with Ryan Seacrest, Busey interrupted an interview with Laura Linney and Jennifer Garner.

When Seacrest asked about Garner, Busey seemed to not know who she was, but then embraced her and kissed her on the neck, leaving the actress surprised.

“I meant no disrespect to Ms. Jennifer Garner when I met her at the Oscars and apologize if I made her uncomfortable,” said Busey in a statement.

The 63-year-old actor said that by the time he realized the actresses were in the middle of an interview, he tried to step back but “suddenly Ryan introduced her to me.”

“I simply greeted both actresses with joy and open arms, which is the way I would greet anyone I’m happy to meet,” Busey added.

“Everyone has experienced a handshake or hug which has turned awkward, and this was no different.”

The incident happened on the Oscar red carpet, and video footage of it went viral on social media. Garner’s reaction was also captured on camera, showing her visibly surprised and uncomfortable.

This is not the first time Busey has made headlines for his behavior. He has a history of erratic behavior and legal troubles, including bankruptcy and drug addiction.

Busey has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including “Lethal Weapon” and “Celebrity Apprentice”.

He has also appeared on reality TV shows, such as “Dancing With the Stars” and “Celebrity Big Brother”.

Garner, on the other hand, is a highly respected actress with a successful career in Hollywood. She has starred in films such as “Juno”, “Dallas Buyers Club”, and “Love, Simon”.

The incident has sparked a conversation about the importance of consent and respecting personal boundaries, especially in the era of #MeToo.

Many people have criticized Busey’s behavior as inappropriate and invasive.

Busey’s apology has been met with mixed reactions, with some people accepting it as a sincere gesture, while others have called it insincere and self-serving.

The incident has also raised questions about the role of media in promoting and perpetuating inappropriate behavior.

Some critics have pointed out that the red carpet is often a chaotic and overwhelming environment, where celebrities are subjected to constant scrutiny and invasion of privacy.

Garner has not publicly commented on the incident or Busey’s apology.

However, some fans have expressed support for her, saying that she should not have to endure such behavior from anyone, regardless of their status or reputation.

The incident has also highlighted the need for more awareness and education about consent and personal boundaries in all areas of society, not just in Hollywood.

Many people have praised the #MeToo movement for bringing attention to these issues and advocating for change.

However, others have criticized it for being too focused on celebrity scandals and not doing enough to address systemic issues of sexual harassment and assault in other industries, such as hospitality, healthcare, and education.
