Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas superstar, has revealed more than she intended in an energetic performance in New York.
The 42-year-old singer was celebrating the release of her new album, Double Dutchess, and had posted a revealing photograph of herself in glitter b–bs on Instagram earlier in the day.
Later, on stage outside Rockefeller Plaza, she wore a skintight crop top and booty-skimming shorts with thigh-high PVC boots and a leather jacket.
However, when climbing down from the stage to a lower platform, she forgot she was wearing hot pants and inadvertently gave the audience an up skirt shot.
Despite the wardrobe malfunction, Fergie continued with the performance, which was part of a promotional tour to mark the launch of her album.
The exposure incident occurred just days after she and her husband of eight years, Josh Duhamel, announced they had separated.
In a joint statement, the couple, who have a four-year-old son, Axl, said: With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year.
“To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public.
“We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.
Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, first found fame in the early 2000s as a member of the Black Eyed Peas.
She launched her solo career in 2006 with the album The Dutchess, which spawned hit singles including London Bridge and Glamorous.
In 2009, she married Duhamel, a film and television actor, in a lavish ceremony in Malibu, California.
