“He adored women. He truly adored them. And I understood that,” Valerie states in the film.

“I grasped it and I wanted him to experience that. However, I also wanted him to return home,” she elaborated.

Valerie recounts her initial encounter with Robin in 1976, prior to his rise to fame as an actor and comedian.

“He was working as a bartender. He had a French accent, offered me a drink, engaged me in conversation, and was utterly charming,” she recalls.

“He asked if I could give him a lift home. He was speaking in French, and as I teased him, we shared a kiss. I knew then that I would see him again,” she continued.

After the birth of their son, Zachary, in April 1983, Robin left Valerie for the couple’s nanny, Marsha Garces.

Robin and Valerie’s divorce was finalized in 1988, and Robin married Marsha the following year while she was expecting their first child, a daughter named Zelda, who is now 28.

Robin and Marsha had another child, a son named Cody, in November 1991.

The couple divorced in 2010, two years after Marsha filed for separation due to irreconcilable differences.

Robin married his third wife, Susan Schneider, in October 2011, and they remained together until his untimely passing in 2014.

Robin Williams, known for his roles in Disney’s animated classic Aladdin as the Genie, the eponymous character in Mrs. Doubtfire, and the television comedy Mork & Mindy (among many others), took his own life.

On August 11, 2014, his body was discovered at his home in California.

The actor had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a condition that his wife, Susan, believed contributed to his death.
