In a recent preview for an upcoming episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, American pop-star Miley Cyrus revealed that she lost her virginity to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth when she was 16 years old.
The podcast, hosted by Sofia Franklyn and Alexandra Cooper, is described as an “uncensored, real, female locker room talk” show that centers around the host’s “crazy” love lives in New York.
The podcast was acquired by Barstool Sports just a month after its first episode premiered on YouTube and has since been a success.
Cyrus and Hemsworth originally met in 2008 while filming the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ romantic novel The Last Song.
At the time, Cyrus was 15 years old and Hemsworth was 22. After their meeting, the two were reportedly nothing more than friends with benefits and often met for nothing more than booty calls.
However, they announced their engagement in 2012 and were married in December 2018, though their marriage ended less than a year later in August 2019.
Since the end of her marriage to Hemsworth, Cyrus has dated Australian singer Cody Simpson, though their relationship has also ended.
Rumors began to circulate that the couple’s relationship was strained and that Cyrus was not over Hemsworth. A close friend of Simpson’s even claimed that he had nearly walked out on Cyrus several times because she wouldn’t let him go.
In the preview for the Call Her Daddy podcast, Cyrus admitted that the lie that she didn’t have sex with anyone until she was 16 was one that she held onto for ten years.
She did not mention Hemsworth by name, but it is clear that she was referring to her ex-husband.
If Cyrus is telling the truth, it could lead to some negative attention for Hemsworth, as the age of consent in California, where the two were living at the time, is 18.
This would technically make Cyrus a minor at the time of her loss of virginity.
Cyrus’ seventh studio album, SHE IS MILEY CYRUS, was originally set to be released on November 9, 2019.
However, due to vocal cord surgery earlier that month, the release of her new music was delayed until early 2020.
