Joey King, the 23-year-old Hollywood actor, has said that she often feels undermined in the film industry because of her looks.

King, who has appeared in blockbuster films such as The Kissing Booth and The Conjuring, as well as being nominated for an Emmy for her role in the acclaimed limited series The Act, said in an interview with The Independent that people have preconceived notions about her because of her appearance and how she carries herself.

“Because of how I look. Because I’m a young woman. Because I’m very polite to people. I think I’m often underestimated or overlooked in a way that I’m just like, ‘Guys? Don’t f****n’ do that! I’m right f****n’ here!'” King said.

King, who was born in Los Angeles, is excited to prove her on-screen fierceness in her new movie, Bullet Train, which is adapted from Kōtarō Isaka’s novel.

In the action-comedy, King stars as Prince, one of the hired killers on clashing missions on a train across Japan.

“She’s really underestimated because of her appearance alone, and I think that’s the thing that I, personally, feel. Otherwise, she’s just a sociopath and a b***h,” King said of her character.

King stars in Bullet Train alongside a star-studded cast that includes Brad Pitt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Sandra Bullock.

In her personal life, King is engaged to filmmaker Steven Piet. On July 2, King shared a rare glimpse of her relationship with Piet on TikTok, writing in the caption: “This is my fiancé, Steven. I love him with my whole heart, and I wanted to show him off a lil.”

She went on to write directly over the first clip: “Just felt like making a video showing merely a fraction of how wonderful life is with you.”

Prior to her relationship with Piet, King was in a relationship with her former co-star Jacob Elordi for about one year in 2017.

King’s career began when she was just nine years old and she has been working in Hollywood ever since.

She has been praised for bringing a “girl next door” element to her roles, but has also faced the challenges of being a young woman in the film industry.

Despite this, she has continued to thrive, proving herself to be one of Hollywood’s most talented young stars.

With her new role in Bullet Train, she has the opportunity to showcase even more of her acting abilities and continue to prove her worth in Hollywood.
