Amanda Bynes is in trouble again.

Officer Juan Galvan of the California Highway Patrol says that the 28-year-old actress was arrested on a DUI charge early Sunday morning in Sherman Oaks, California.

After police “determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance” while driving, she was charged with a misdemeanor. The former Nickelodeon star was held on $15,000 bail at the Van Nuys police station before being released at 12:44 p.m. the same day.

Around 3 a.m., the 28-year-old was pulled over while driving a white Mercedes Benz in Los Angeles, California. Bynes had a “disheveled appearance” and seemed to be under the influence of a substance, according to the arrest report.

Officers took her to the West Valley CHP office for a drug recognition expert’s examination.

In 2012, the former Nickelodeon star was again arrested for DUI. In February 2014, she pled no guilty to alcohol-related dangerous driving and was sentenced to three years probation.

She went to rehab in 2013, came out, and was living with her parents in 2014. Last year, investigators claimed she lit a minor fire in the driveway of a Thousand Oaks residence, prompting her to seek mental help.

Last year, the former Nickelodeon child star of “All That” and “The Amanda Show” was put on an involuntary psychiatric stay.

Following her arrest in April, the troubled actress had several more run-ins with the law, including several driving-related arrests in Los Angeles, as well as an incident in May 2013 in which she allegedly threw a bong out the window of her high-rise NYC apartment.

Bynes had her own Nickelodeon variety show, The Amanda Show, and participated in a number of films, including What a Girl Wants.

According to the Associated Press, a phone call left for Bynes’ attorney, Richard Hutton, was not immediately answered.

Her once-controversial Twitter feed, which featured photographs of her wearing vividly colored wigs and professing her dislike for “ugly” people, has since been flooded with cheerful comments about fashion and family trips.

Since May, the actress has been deafeningly quiet on Twitter.

Tamar Arminak, Bynes’ lawyer, knocked rejected allegations that the actress suffered from schizophrenia in April. “There has been much speculation about Amanda’s medical condition,” her lawyer added. “She has remained silent because she believed it was best to keep her mental health diagnosis private. However, she asked me to dispel certain rumors. For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it.”

Arminak stated, “Amanda currently is on zero medication. She’s devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She’s never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she’s proud to say she’s been marijuana-free for the past nine months.”
