Rebel Wilson reveals ‘simple’ way she shed more than 30kg

Rebel Wilson has revealed how she lost 5.5 stone (35kg) in her ‘Year of Health’ in 2020 by following a very basic diet.

While the Hollywood actress has completely altered her fitness levels in her drive to get healthy, she has stated that grueling exercises were not the key to her success.

The 41-year-old Bridesmaids actress said that her secret weapon was ‘moderate walking’ as she underwent a total lifestyle change.

‘The doctor said to me, “Rebel, the best way for you to lose unwanted body fat is just simply walking,”’ the actress remembered in an interview piece crafted for Apple Fitness+ and its Time to Walk series.

‘Doesn’t have to be high-intensity, doesn’t have to be uphill, just moderate walking an hour a day. And if you can do that, for you, for your body type, it’s, like, the best way to lose unwanted body fat.’

The Pitch Perfect actress said it was “interesting” to be in a renowned health resort surrounded by “best hi-tech” equipment and taught to do something so simple.

‘You come to this amazing place that has all the best high-tech stuff in the world for health, and then the thing that they recommend is something that you could do anywhere in the world, and you don’t have to have anything to be able to do it apart from the ability just to go for a walk.’

The actress described the ‘simple solution’ provided by the doctor as ‘really comforting.’

“I found that really comforting because it was, like, a simple solution to something that I thought a lot about before,” she explained.

“I would train at the gym, you know even when I was at my heaviest, like hardcore and do weights and do things where you just feel absolutely exhausted afterwards, and I didn’t actually need to be doing that.

“Like, it’s great to do that if you’re working for a particular, like, cardiovascular goal, but my goal was just to get healthier and to lose the body fat that my body didn’t actually need and want.”

Rebel made news across the world when she declared 2020 to be her ‘Year of Health,’ and she has now shed 35kgs.

In May, the Fat Pizza actress said that she was “sad” that she had waited until she was 40 to start living a better lifestyle.

‘Now that I know I can do it, sometimes I feel sad that I didn’t do it earlier,’ she told InStyle.

Rebel said that she has always been a ‘late developer,’ and that she wishes she had ‘tried when I was 30, not 40.’

‘But everybody’s journey is different, and it’s not a race or competition.’

‘I have a natural empathy for anyone who struggles with weight issues because that’s something I’ve always struggled with.’
