Dolly Parton is perhaps the most influential female singer-songwriter in the history of country music.

During an exclusive ceremony in Nashville this week, Guinness World Records handed Parton her three new world records. She currently has the most decades on the U.S. Hot Country Songs list by a female artist with seven, as well as the most No. 1 hits on the chart by a female artist with 25.

The third record she broke, though, was one she already held.

Parton previously led the category for most singles on the US Hot Country Songs chart with her 108th song, “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas,” back in January. Her 109th hit, “Does He Love You,” with duet partner Reba McEntire, has propelled her to surpass that prior accomplishment.

“This is the kind of stuff that really makes you very humble and very grateful for everything that’s happened. I had no idea that I would be in Guinness World Records this many times! I am flattered and honored,” said Parton in an interview with the organization. “I’ve had a lot of people help me get here. Thanks to all of you and all of them for helping me have all of this.”

She went on to say, “I’ve loved being able to make a living in the business that I love so much. I’ve been so fortunate to see my dreams come true, and I just hope to continue for as long as I can. You’re going to have to knock me down to stop me!”

With the hit singles “Something Fishy” and “Dumb Blonde,” she began her chart-topping reign in 1967.

In addition to the new honors, the singer has been a Guinness World Record holder for the longest decades with a Top 20 single on the US Country Songs chart since 2018.

Parton also made history when she received her 50th Grammy nomination earlier this year.

The 75-year-old Sevierville native has had a busy year. She was named to both TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list and People Magazine’s People of the Year list for her Netflix Christmas special, which earned her her first Emmy Award.

“Dolly Parton is one of very few musical artists in history with this degree of staying power,” Guinness judge Sarah Casson remarked. “Writing and recording music that makes the charts across seven decades is truly an amazing accomplishment.”
