Tom Cruise and his Mission: Impossible 7 co-star Hayley Atwell never confirmed their relationship, but it was clear the actors enjoyed each other’s company after attending several events together, including the star-studded Wimbledon tennis tournament this past summer. However, Cruise has reportedly broken up with Hayley.

His affection for “Captain America” actress was a key influence in his decision to film the upcoming picture in the United Kingdom, according to The Sun. “Tom and Hayley hit it off from day one,” a production insider claimed at the time. “Lockdown, and all the difficulties that came with it, brought them even closer and they’ve become fairly inseparable. They’ve been meeting up after hours, and she’s been to his London pad. They get on brilliantly, and both seem very happy.”

Unfortunately, it appears that their time together has come to an end.

The Hollywood A-lister, 59, and the British actress, 39, are said to have broken up while filming the eighth Mission Impossible film.

According to The Daily Mail, Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell struck it up on the set of the seventh chapter of the highly successful action franchise. Cruise plays Ethan Hunt, the franchise’s main character, and Hayley Atwell makes her debut appearance in the series as Grace.

The 7th chapter of the Mission Impossible franchise suffered many delays, blunders, and COVID shutdowns, much like many other films this year.

Tom’s bodyguard’s €117,000 BMW X7 was also stolen from the Birmingham set last month, along with thousands of pounds worth of the actor’s belongings.

In another twist, the expensive vehicle was discovered discarded behind a chicken restaurant a few days later.

“It has been a very intense period of filming together,” a film insider told the magazine, implying that the chaos may have impacted their new love. “They really got on well – and they’re obviously both very good-looking Hollywood stars so it made for a good match.” Despite both being good-looking, “as the latest film winds down they’ve decided to go back to being friends,” they added.

‘Their filming schedules are very full-on, and Tom has a number of other commitments coming up and is always shooting around by private helicopter and jet so it just ran its course.’

Despite their split, they are ‘still happy to work together’ and ‘still get on well,’ according to the source.

Tom has married two actresses in the past. From 1990 to 2001, he was married to Nicole Kidman, with whom he had two adopted children, Connor, 26, and Isabella, 28, who were raised in the Church of Scientology and whom Tom kept custody of after the divorce, and Katie Holmes from 2006 to 2012. Tom and Katie share daughter Suri, 15.

Katie Holmes has been enjoying her single life, dating Jamie Foxx and Emilio Vitolo Jr. Since their divorce in 2012, Atwell is his first long-term relationship since.

Hayley Atwell has recently been cast as Lara Croft’s voice in Netflix’s animated Tomb Raider series, so she’ll have a lot on her plate in the coming weeks.

Regardless of whether or not there was any tension between Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell, they will almost certainly continue to spend time together in the near future. Both are expected to reconvene to promote M:I7 before its September 2022 launch. Aside from that, the two are slated to reprise their roles in Mission: Impossible 8, which will be released less than a year after the last installment.
