Meghan Markle has been chastised for appearing to lecture others in her birthday speech. Presenters on Australia’s Today slammed her for her 40th birthday video.

Karl Stefanovic and Sophie Walsh criticized the royal couple on Thursday after Meghan released a 40th birthday message announcing her new initiative to help women return to work following the coronavirus pandemic.

Ms Walsh found Meghan’s lecture about the public returning to work “rich,” despite the fact that she had “quit her job” as a senior member of the Royal family.

The host said, “I love that she’s lecturing people about getting back to work and she quit her job as a royal after less than two years.”

Karl then pointed out that the couple were already rolling in money “from home” after making deals with many major corporations including Netflix and Spotify.

Taking aim at the video, he said: “And to have that dog’s life, just lying there in front of the fire that’s not on, on a pillow.

Karl then quizzed Meghan’s speech style, asking, “Why doesn’t she talk normally?”

Mocking her American accent he quoted: “‘To harness the woman’s mobility as she works back…’ I mean, come on!

Sophie bluntly commented back: “Harry’s lost the plot.”

The scathing remarks came after Meghan released the video on the Archewell website to honor the launch of the new 40×40 campaign on her 40th birthday.

“Because I’m turning 40, I am asking 40 friends to donate 40 minutes of their time to help mentor a woman who’s mobilising back into the workforce,” the Duchess of Sussex said.

“Over 2,000,000 women in the US alone and tens of millions around the world have lost their jobs due to Covid.

“I think if we all do it and all commit 40 minutes to some sort of active service we can create a ripple effect.”

In the video, the former royal cracks jokes about tattoos, Suits, and her age while sitting at a big desk in what seems to be her US home.

Since stepping down as senior royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been making charity contributions. Meghan used the word “service” throughout her statement, which was used in a number of “sharp” statements from both sides following Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the Royal Family.
