One episode of Netflix’s popular series The Crown is said to have left Queen Elizabeth “sad and annoyed.”

According to reports, the queen was especially irritated by episode 9 of season 2, which portrays a difficult period at boarding school for a young Prince Charles. In the episode, Charles’ father, Prince Philip, informs his son that he is “bloody weak” for not standing up to bullies at Gordonstoun, the same institution where Philip was a student. However, a palace source claims that things didn’t quite go as portrayed in reality.

It was previously generally assumed that the Queen and other members of the royal family liked watching the television program.

“Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland. That simply did not happen,” the source said.

“I can convey that [Queen Elizabeth] was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his son’s wellbeing.”

“The queen realizes that many who watch The Crown take it as an accurate portrayal of the royal family and she cannot change that,” the source added. “But I can convey that she was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his son’s well-being. She was particularly annoyed at a scene in which Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland. That simply did not happen.”

The sovereign, for the most part, is believed to be a fan of the program after her son and daughter-in-law, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, allegedly urged her to watch ot.

The Queen knows that people may interpret The Crown as a true depiction of events that happened, according to the source, and she “cannot change that”

“It was only tough in the sense that it demanded more of you as an individual than most other schools, mentally or physically. It taught me a great deal,” Prince Charles has previously said of his time at the institution.

Since its debut in 2016, The Crown has been the subject of heated discussion on the internet. While it is clearly based on real events, it is also a television program, thus the writers have obviously made some liberties with the language.

For her depiction as Queen Elizabeth, Claire Foy just received an Emmy. Olivia Colman will take her position as the show’s star in the upcoming third season, which will also see other characters recast to represent the passage of time. By the conclusion, Helena Bonham Carter, Tobias Menzies, and Josh O’Connor will have appeared in a series that will introduce Diana.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex persuaded the Queen to watch The Crown after arranging Saturday evening viewing sessions.

Actually, Elizabeth remarked in an interview once that she does not watch shows depicting her or the royal family. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
