Prince Harry is adding a new title to his list of accomplishments.
The Duke of Sussex, who stepped down as a senior working member of the royal family last year, will become the chief impact officer of coaching and mental health startup BetterUp Inc., according to the Wall Street Journal.
In addition to becoming a public advocate on subjects connected to mental health, which he has recently embraced, Prince Harry is anticipated to give advice on other corporate projects, including product planning and philanthropic contributions.
In a statement to the media, the Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson acknowledged the new job.
“As BetterUp’s first Chief Impact Officer, my goal is to lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations,” Prince Harry said in a statement released by the company. “And my hope is to help people develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence.”
He expressed his excitement about joining the organization, adding: “Self-optimisation is not about fixing something that’s broken.
“It’s about becoming the best version of ourselves, with whatever life throws at us – someone who is ready for the next challenge and can meet setbacks with courage, confidence and self-awareness.
“This is what BetterUp is making possible and I look forward to being on this journey with you.”
Prince Harry, 36, also said that he has been using the company’s resources for some months.
“I was matched with my coach who, quite frankly, is truly awesome and has always given me sound advice and a fresh perspective, which is so valuable,” he explained.
