According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s next baby will be born on Prince Philip’s birthday.

The baby is due to arrive this week, on June 10, the same day that the late Duke of Edinburgh would have turned 100.

If the story is accurate, that anniversary will undoubtedly be bittersweet for the royal family.

The pregnant couple are considering naming their child after the late Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen, or Princess Diana, according to The Sun on Saturday.

Harry and Meghan revealed that they were expecting their second child, a girl, on Valentine’s day and confirmed the gender to Oprah Winfrey.

When asked when their baby daughter was due, the couple replied, “Over the summer.”

According to The Sun, who cited US sources, the couple is considering naming their child ‘Pip’ in honor of Philip, who died in April.

The pair is also said to be contemplating the name Lily, which is a play on the Queen’s family moniker Lilibet.

According to the source: “The baby is due on Philip’s birthday and it would be so special if she came then.

“That, and naming her Pip, would be a lovely way to pay tribute to Philip.

“Harry has been discussing the due date and possible names with his close pals and they’re talking about it quite openly now it’s getting close.”

Diana, after Prince Harry’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, is another name that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are apparently considering for their second child.

Two new members of the royal family have already been named after the late Duke of Edinburgh.

In February, Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank called their child August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, while in March, Mike and Zara Tindall called their third child Lucas Philip Tindall.

Harry was close to his grandpa, referring to him as a “legend of banter” in a tribute after the duke’s death.

Amid disagreements with the rest of the family over his choice to resign as a senior royal, Harry returned to the UK from his residence in Los Angeles to attend the burial.

Meghan is reportedly contemplating a calm home birth in Montecito, California.

Archie, who turned two on May 6, will have a little sister with the new baby.

The revelation comes after Meghan and Harry were demoted on the official Royal Family website after leaving their senior positions and moving to the United States.

On the official website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now placed underneath Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex, as well as the Princess Royal and the Duke of York.

Harry has been critical of numerous members of the home while freely discussing his time in ‘the firm,’ but he has always emphasized his love for his grandparents.

Following tensions earlier this year in the aftermath of Meghan and Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, the Countess of Wessex stated that the royals are “still a family no matter what happens.”

Sophie told The Telegraph Magazine that she had a “lengthy chat” with Harry following the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in April.
