Prince William was left “pretty damn cross” after Meghan Markle threw Kate under the bus

According to a royal author, the Duchess of Sussex’s remarks regarding the Duchess of Cambridge during the explosive Oprah interview are likely to deepen the rift between the two sisters in law.

During a “stressful” fitting in November 2018, it was stated that Meghan “left Kate in tears” about her requests for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaids outfit.

The “rift” was reported to have started after Kate suggested that the bridesmaids obey royal etiquette by wearing tights, which Meghan disagreed with.

The Duchess of Sussex, on the other hand, assured Oprah that in fact Kate “left her in tears” and gave her roses to make amends about what she’d done.

Meghan responded to Oprah’s question over why she had made Kate cry by saying: “The reverse happened. A few days before the wedding she was upset about something, pertaining to … the flower girl dresses, and it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings.”

Meghan went on to explain that the timing of the argument was particularly disturbing since her father’s attendance at her wedding was in doubt.

“I thought in the context of everything else going on in the days leading to the wedding, it didn’t make sense to not doing what everyone else was doing, which was being supportive,” Meghan said.

Meghan assured Oprah that Kate “owned it and apologised” with a handwritten note and flowers after the argument.

Penny Junor, a royal columnist, now claims that Meghan’s remarks might have infuriated William.

According to Ms Junor, who spoke to The Express, “I would have thought one of the things William was most cross about was the fact that Meghan threw Kate under the bus.

“It wasn’t Harry, but it was his wife, and he must have known that she was going to do that and he clearly hasn’t corrected it in any way.

“It depends how Kate is feeling.

“I must say I would be pretty damn cross.”

Buckingham Palace released a statement in reaction to the Oprah interview, saying, ““The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”

Prince Harry claimed Wills was “trapped” in the Firm, while disclosing “conversations” with a member of the Royal Family over the color of his unborn child’s face. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is said to be greatly distressed by the interview.

Kate has never mentioned the interview in public.

The former US TV star’s remarks are claimed to have enraged her brother-in-law William, who is reportedly furious at how she personally attacked his wife while knowing she would have no means of responding.

For the first time since the shocking interview at Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17, William, Harry, and Kate met each other.

Though Prince Harry was reported to have organized a “summit” for clear-the-air talks as the trio left St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, other sources say he left too soon for that.
