Meghan Markle is, without a doubt, a divisive figure. There are people who love her and those who can’t bear her. People who despise her seem to be the most outspoken, making some very derogatory claims concerning the Duchess of Sussex.
There are many reasons why people dislike, if not outright hate, Meghan Markle. To those who are skeptical of her, she seems to be untrustworthy. Many people couldn’t bring themselves to like Markle because of her two-year marriage and eventual divorce from her first partner, Trevor Engelson. Others blame her for the royal family’s recent problems.
Diva attitude
Meghan Markle was dubbed “difficult” by many palace sources during her tenure as a member of the British royal family, but even those who worked with her in the film industry are blasting her as well.
The Duchess of Sussex was considered to be a diva and perfectionist before she married Prince Harry, to the point that she irritated everyone around her.
If things on set didn’t go her way or if she didn’t get enough coverage, she made things tough, according to a source quoted by the Post.
“She was always having to be coaxed out of her dressing room during promotional shoots because she didn’t think she looked pretty enough, or her outfit wasn’t right or she felt she wasn’t getting prominent enough placement (in the promotional pictures),” the source added.
“There were always tears. Every time,” the insider continued.
This was in line with recent Daily Mail accounts in which a videographer reported the same thing.
“People told me, ‘get ready because she is a lot.’ They used to call her ‘the princess.’ When I saw her, right away from the moment she arrived, I didn’t even know who she was and she was acting like a diva – It was the attitude, how she talked to people, the rules,” he had told the British tabloid.
“She came in wearing a (baseball) cap, hiding her face and she had her head down and just walked back toward the make-up room,” he went on to say.
“It was like it was the big diva coming in, and she doesn’t want people to see her, like you would do if you’re walking in the street and you don’t want the paparazzi to take your picture. Everyone thought, ‘she is acting like an A-lister when she is not even a D-lister’,” he said.
Family rift
Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle’s estranged half-sister, blasts her for ‘ghosting’ her family.
The 53-year-old accused the Duchess of Sussex of “ghosting” their family, claiming that their father raised her on his own since she was 12 years old.
Samantha said Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland “wasn’t around very much” on Twitter, according to the Mirror online.
“The world does not know that our dad raised her most of the time without the input of her mother especially from age 12 through high school and he gave her everything she had and is.
“She was never raised as an only child. Truth kids! He is amazing and successful.”
“Thomas Markle took care of Meg a majority of the time… Losers who called him a sperm donor can choke on their words.”
“Dad pretty much raised her most of her life on his own and Doria was not around very much.”
Samantha took to Twitter once more to accuse Meghan of being the one who ignored her family first.
“She has ghosted both sides of the family she needs to earn our trust it is the other way around,” she vented. “You don’t crap on an entire family and then run around crying that you cannot trust everyone.”
“She did not ignore everyone because they spoke out everyone spoke out because she started ignoring them.”
The Impact On The Royal Family
People who dislike Markle believe she is to blame for the current status of the British royal family. She poisoned Prince Harry’s family, which isn’t surprising, given how she treats her own family. Meghan Markle’s detractors knew Kate Middleton didn’t like her sister-in-law, and there were several news stories alleging to provide evidence of a rivalry between the royal sisters-in-laws. Markle was even accused of mistreating her husband’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Despite the fact that the royal family welcomed her and supported her on her wedding day while her own father was unable to walk her down the aisle, detractors claim Markle mistreated them.
Over all, there seems to be an air of arrogance around Meghan Markle, which many people dislike. Some may also described the Duchess of Sussex as a narcissist. Markle has recently clashed with her royal in-laws because it has to be about her all of the time. Markle, according to her detractors, is a diva who coerced herself into marrying a prince on whom she exerts much too much power.
Divorce
Everyone knows Meghan Markle met Prince Harry on a blind date in 2016 and found her happily ever after. However, the 39-year-old was formerly married to Trevor Engelson, and let’s just say that their marriage did not end well.
Meghan’s ex-husband is still angry over the divorce and has “zero to say about her,” according to Andrew Morton’s book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.
The former flames reconnected in 2004 and married in 2010. The couple married in a four-day ceremony in Jamaica in 2011. The ceremony was finished in about 15 minutes, according to a source at the time. “Then everyone hit the dance floor. It seemed they all just wanted to party.”
According to a source, Markle and Engelson split up because they didn’t live in the same city and the brunette beauty was becoming more popular for her appearance in the USA Network series Suits. A source told Woman’s Day magazine, “Meghan landed her role in Suits just a few months before they married,” “And despite being together for six years before getting hitched, things started to fall apart not long after the wedding.
