Royals who will step in for Prince Harry, Meghan and Prince Philip

Following the sudden exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the royal family, Queen Elizabeth has urged Prince Andrew’s two daughters to take up more royal responsibilities, Page Six reports.

According to the Daily Mail, the Queen now wishes Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to attend more royal ceremonies and perform more duties to fill the void left by Harry and Meghan.

Beatrice, 31, works in finance. Eugenie, her 29-year-old niece, works at the Hauser & Wirth art gallery. They are the ninth and tenth in line for the throne, respectively.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have left the royal family and are now based in Los Angeles. Karen Sugarman, executive vice-president of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, told the Daily Mirror that Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, could also help the royal family recover from its recent troubles.

In 1999, Sophie married Prince Edward, the Queen’s youngest son.

Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn, are the couple’s two children.

Sophie is a supporter of a variety of organizations, including the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, which provides care to 700 chronically ill children.

“I’ve heard Sophie being called the royal’s family’s secret weapon and I can see why, but to us she is simply our guardian angel,” Ms Sugarman said.

“It’s never about the so-called PR opportunity for her and the way I have seen her interact with each child and family on her visits, radiating warmth and kindness and really caring about what we do, means an awful lot.

“We are so lucky to have her involved.”

Insiders say that while Prince Philip’s death has left a “huge void” in the Queen’s life, her caring family will support her with her “undiminished” sense of duty.

Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, the couple’s four children, are doing all they can to console their mother while still dealing with their own grief.

Her grandchildren are also there to assist the 94-year-old queen, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Eugenie, who lives nearby.

The Queen’s trusted circle of seven senior royals has been announced, who will stand by her at all future engagements.

The seven would reportedly “fill the space” left by Prince Philip, who died on Friday, April 9th, at the age of 99.

The group includes Prince Charles, Camilla, Princess Anne, Kate and William, as well as Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex.

“The Duke of Edinburgh is irreplaceable, and the Queen’s dedication to duty is undiminished,” a source told MailOnline. “However, senior officials and members of the family have long had an eye on ensuring she is more supported in the future, and it seems sensible to start employing this now.”

It’s no joke that Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, will take the throne as the next in line, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will follow him at such events.

Anne, Princess Royal, is one of the most hardworking royals, attending a variety of events during the year.

Kate and William, Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, as well as Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and husband Prince Edward, who all paid homage to Prince Philip after his burial, are expected to step up.

“If one parent dies, the children – and in this case, grandchildren – all step up and fill in in various ways,” another said.

“No single individual could ever take place of the Duke of Edinburgh, but just maybe all of them coming together will fill some of the space he has left behind.”

Kate is said to have a strong friendship with the Queen, achieving the right balance of treating her as monarch and still treating her as the great-grandmother to her children. She is said to have a direct line to her.

“With the Duke and Duchess of Sussex giving up public duties, the Royal Family has already slimmed down,” a royal source told the Daily Mail. “As the older members of the family retire, it will become slimmer still, so there are spaces to be filled.”

Meghan Markle continues to be referred to by her last name because she kept her name when she married Prince Harry. But why is Catherine constantly referred to as Kate Middleton as she opted not to keep her married name. While we all knew Diana’s maiden name I don’t recall her ever being referred to by Spencer once she married Prince Charles…she was always Princess Diana
