According to a royal author, William was enraged when he learned of a complaint lodged against the Duchess of Sussex by her former communications secretary.

A new book claims that an angry Prince William kicked Harry out of his royal household after learning about a “dossier” of alleged bullying by Meghan Markle.

The brothers had shared the Kensington Palace household for a decade, but William decided enough was enough and directed his staff to separate them.

Royal expert Robert Lacey writes that William phoned Harry immediately to discuss the incident, and Harry hung up on him. More discoveries are forthcoming in the revised edition of his book, Battle of Brothers. After the incident, William felt “hurt and betrayed” and he thought Meghan was “stealing his beloved brother away from him.”

He said: “Harry shut off his phone angrily, so William went to speak to him personally. The prince was horrified by what he had just been told about Meghan’s alleged behaviour, and he wanted to hear what Harry had to say.”

Harry defended his wife, and the Sussexes rejected bullying accusations, claiming Meghan was the victim of a “smear campaign”

The bullying allegations, according to their rep, were part of a “calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation.” Knauf, one of many employees who complained about Meghan, resigned as CEO of the Royal Foundation in May, two months after the allegations were made public.

A friend stated in an excerpt from Lacey’s book, Battle of Brothers, published by The Times, that “William threw Harry out.”

“Prince William went ballistic when he heard the ‘dossier of distress’ that [ex comms secretary Jason] Knauf had gathered”

“The prince was astonished and horrified. He was instantly furious at what he heard”

“The showdown between the two siblings was fierce and bitter. William believed Meghan was following a plan — ‘agenda’ was the word he used to his friend”

“Meghan was undermining some precious principles of the monarchy, if she really was treating her staff in this way, and William was upset that she seemed to be stealing his beloved brother away”

“William wished to be separated from Meghan on a day-to-day basis — and that meant being separated from his brother as well”

The Times reported that the Duchess bullied two PAs out of their jobs in 2017.

But the allegations were rejected by a spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex. “The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself, and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma,” Meghan’s representative said in a statement to Us Weekly in March.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, the Sussexes made a series of shocking claims, including that a member of the family had made disparaging comments about son Archie’s skin color before his birth, and that Meghan was denied assistance when suffering from a mental health crisis.

“William feels that Harry should discuss his issues privately and can’t comprehend why he continues to shade his own flesh and blood on TV,” the source said after the release of Harry’s docuseries The Me You Can’t See. “Of course, mental health is a serious issue, but William can’t get his head around why Harry keeps throwing his family under the bus.”

The source added: “There’s no way they’ll ever trust him after this. The damage is done.”

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the book’s allegations.

Prince Harry and Prince William are set to meet for the installation of a monument honoring their late mother, Princess Diana.
