Prince Harry will allegedly not be joined by his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lili, when he travels to England to commemorate Princess Diana’s 60th birthday early next month. Despite reports that the duchess, who gave birth to Lili on June 4, planned to join Harry on his visit, an insider told the Daily Mirror that she will remain in California.

A source close to the royal couple told the Daily Mirror, “Meghan is not going to travel. She has just had a baby and Harry will travel alone.”

On 1 July, a statue of the late Princess will be unveiled at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden.

Royal correspondent Victoria Ward tweeted, “The Duchess of Sussex will not fly to the UK to join Harry for the unveiling of a statue of his late mother, sources confirm, after a US website claimed she would join him. She’s just had a baby, they point out.

There have been reports and claims that the new mother will follow her husband Harry on his trip to the United Kingdom.

Harry will deliver a speech at the Kensington Palace event to unveil the Diana sculpture that he and Prince William commissioned in 2017. William is expected to deliver a separate address. Harry has also been asked to a one-on-one lunch with Queen Elizabeth, according to the Daily Mail. “It’s a typically magnanimous gesture by Her Majesty,” a courtier said. “The lunch will be a chance for them to talk things through.”

It’s understandable that Duchess Meghan isn’t going so soon after giving birth; leaving behind a baby, in addition to the Sussexes’ two-year-old son, Archie, would be quite tough. But the Duke of Sussex was always expected to come to the United Kingdom. Both Prince Harry and Meghan are taking several months of parental leave so they may spend time together as a family.

The Duchess of Sussex will miss her second trip to London, where she previously lived for two and a half years. Harry returned to the UK in April, when Meghan was over eight months pregnant, to attend the funeral of his grandpa, Prince Philip. The Duchess stayed in California with son Archie on doctor’s advice.

Harry’s journey is obviously significant since it is to honor his late mother. Otherwise, you’d think he wouldn’t want to go across the Atlantic less than a month after his daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, arrived. Lili is named after her grandmother, Diana, as well as her great-grandmother, the Queen, who was known as Lilibet as a kid.

Before arriving in the UK, Harry will be needed to provide a negative Covid test and will be asked to take two additional tests while there.

He may be compelled to quarantine at his Frogmore Cottage house in the Windsor estate’s grounds for ten days, exactly as he was when he returned for Philip’s burial.

Despite the fact that Duchess Meghan will not be visiting the United Kingdom, she’s keeping the royals informed on their newest arrival with Prince Harry, as the Sussexes have been sending plenty of photographs of baby Lili to the family WhatsApp group.
