Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are allegedly planning to take time off following the birth of their second child to spend “proper time together.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are already parents to Archie, disclosed that they are expecting a daughter during their big interview with Oprah Winfrey.

This decision comes after the couple resigned from their royal responsibilities and relocated to California.

Plans for a home delivery were initially revealed by Page Six, with a source stating of Meghan, “She has a beautiful home in California, it’s a beautiful setting to give birth to her baby girl.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had planned a home birth for Archie at Frogmore Cottage, but because the baby was a week late, they felt a hospital delivery would be preferable.

The baby, who will be a little sister to the couple’s first child, Archie, is set to arrive this week.

According to Page Six, insiders close to the couple have stated that they intend to take both paternity and maternity leave when their baby girl comes.

As a friend put it: “They will both take some proper time off.

“It will be the summer and they want to make sure they both take their leave so they have some real quality time together once the baby arrives.”

The Sussexes weren’t able to take much time off when Archie was born in May 2018; Prince Harry had to fly to the Netherlands only days after, and, as Katie Nicholl points out, Meghan worked throughout her pregnancy.

Meghan has already begun to devise nice ways for her daughter to bond with her when she is born.

During their interview with the US television star, Harry stated that their daughter will be their last baby.

He said to Oprah: “A girl, you know, what more can you ask for? But now, you know, now we’ve got our family.”

According to Vanity Fair, Archie’s delivery was “fairly straightforward,” so the Sussexes are hopeful that a home delivery for their newborn girl, at their Santa Barbara mansion, will go smoothly.
