Prior to the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, Meghan Markle reportedly spoke to the Queen on the phone, although she was unable to attend.

The Duchess of Sussex talked with the queen from her home in Montecito, California, where she was watching the live coverage of the ceremony. Archie was also there to interact with his great-grandmother.

A source told People magazine that the Duchess of Sussex talked with her husband, Prince Harry, many times when he was in England for the ceremony.

Meghan Markle, according to the source, was aware that his return home had been difficult, and she needed him to feel that she was there for him.

“Meghan and Harry have been in touch every day. She knows the trip to England has been difficult for Harry. He didn’t want to leave Meghan and Archie alone,” the insider added that she “has insisted to him every day though that they are fine” because she did not want him to worry.

For the first time since he and Meghan left the nation in early 2020, Harry, 36, returned home.

Meghan reportedly reached out to the Queen the week before the Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest.

They also stated: “Meghan spoke with Harry before his grandfather’s funeral. Meghan and Archie also spoke with the Queen earlier this week.”

On his brief visit to the UK, Prince Harry is said to have paid a visit to the Queen.

The two met ‘at least twice’ during the past week, according to royal reporter Omid Scobie, before the Duke of Sussex jetted back to Los Angeles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have now reunited in California. Prince Harry flew from London to Los Angeles and arrived at the mansion in the afternoon. He was unable to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday celebrations on Wednesday.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral was held on Saturday, April 17, a week after he died at Windsor Castle.

In the procession carrying Philip’s coffin, Harry joined his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William.

Following the funeral, the brothers, who have recently drifted apart, were seen chatting.
