Kate Middleton and Prince William are rebranding on social media!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed on May 5th that they had launched their very own YouTube channel.

Fans also found a tweak on the couple’s Instagram page concerning their username at the same time.

The official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has changed and is no longer @kensingtonpalace.

The username for Prince William and Kate is now @dukeandduchessofcambridge, instead of Kensington Palace, which is their official home.

The transition was accompanied by a new profile picture, which was also used for their new YouTube channel: a candid image of the couple giggling during their 2020 visit to Ireland.

Since their Instagram account was established six years ago, William and Kate have used the handle “@kensingtonroyal” for their social media pages.

However, it seems that they have changed their username to something more personal.

Prince Charles and Camilla also have an official Instagram handle, @clarencehouse, which records “the life wok and activities” of the couple and is linked to their official residence of Clarence House.

This trend has now been broken, as the account of the Duke and Duchess now corresponds to their official titles.

The move indicates that the pair is moving toward a more personalized social networking presence. This coincides with the Duke and Duchess’ launch of a new YouTube channel, which they revealed with a short film.

However, the Duke and Duchess have not confirmed why they changed their username.

The official Twitter address for Prince William and Kate is still @KensingtonRoyal. This morning (6 May), the couple took to Twitter and Instagram to wish their nephew Archie, Prince Harry and Meghan’s son, a happy second birthday.

Prince William and Kate are the first working royals to get their own YouTube channel, and the couple has posted their first clip, which promotes the channel and invites fans to watch and register for future material.

A montage of excerpts from official visits and videos of the couple, as well as a couple of charming behind-the-scenes outtakes, are included in the video.

In less than 20 hours after going live on May 5th, the video had over one million views.
